Iain Tyrrell’s Aston Has A Royal Connection…

Before lockdown I got together with our resident classic and supercar expert Iain Tyrrell to pick his brains on more than 30 years of experience. A lot of his time is spent searching for cars on behalf of clients. In this interview I asked him about the most unusual car search he’s ever done. Turns out it had a connection to nobility and royalty so let me tug what’s left of my forelock and hand over to Iain.

What is so lovely about these stories is that you know every detail is correct without any embellishment. Presented as always with the beautiful tones of Iains voice. I wonder just how much Iain would love just to tell who these people are...maybe one day in his Autobiography (book not Range Rover) we will all hear some wonderful reveals, but knowing the gentleman Iain is I somehow have my doubts. My family's royal vehicle history was owning a Chevrolet Monte Carlo that was driven by the late Princess Grace of Monaco. Made by GM for her, it was light blue with a white interior and had her royal crests on the doors.

I do, as Swedish as I am, no discussion about the price. I buy it or I don´t. Talk about different culture. Is the car as I expected it to be and as described, I will buy it. A handshake will do fine :). I do like Iains manners, he is a true Gentleman. (In Sweden we call people by their first name).
