Ive seen a lot of Asian-American, biracial actors and actresses, but for her to want to be in the Asian-American groups, with her very Caucasian features is a bit offensive.

Wait, this is the 3rd biracial woman I've seen so far showcased in this series. This is a series on being "Asian" and yet one of the loudest messages I've gleaned so far is that to be an Asian female in the forefront, you must contain white DNA! You mean you go out of your way to do a series examining Asian experiences and all you can show me are some biracial women talking about their Asianness? How "Asian" are these half white sisters off the camera and why not just go to the source if you really want to examine the Asian experience? All I know is, these half white brites do not represent me. Completely disingenuous.

+Sha La La But the people who aren't full Asian experience different hardships and struggles throughout their life. It's just another variation of the Asian-American story. There is no "perfect" Asian-American upbringing, and if you think there should be one, then you're just contributing to the harmful construct that all of us must follow the same path.

+Amanda Kaku You're criticizing me with the logic that if a person is 100% ethnically Asian, our lives must all naturally follow the same path. What I'm criticizing is the tendency to put a disproportionate number of these people on the forefront to represent me, when there's enough of me as is, with intriguing and varying untold narratives. What I'm also criticizing is that whenever someone is half Caucasian, it's always the 'colored' side who claims these people as their own even though it's clear these people's experiences are as much Caucasian as Asian. It's a different experience which warrants a different label.

+Sha La La I'm sorry if I portrayed your view as something different, but it seems like you were hoping for everyone to be full Asian. Looking through the videos of this campaign, I'm seeing more people who are full Asian as opposed to those who are of mixed race, so I don't understand your argument. Not sure what your expectations are of this campaign, but I think CAPE is doing a pretty awesome job bringing to light the stories of Asian-American celebrities.

+Amanda Kaku In any other part of the world, this woman would be considered mixed. I don't go by the one percent rule invented by whites to keep the white race pure in America. I find it ironic that this woman should represent Asians in a series about empowering Asians when it's clearly her mixed privilege that got her here in the first place.
