Appreciate your videos. I got my foot in the door with a junior IAM help desk position , after multiple applications to various developer roles and cybersecurity roles. I almost gave up on tech after aimlessly completing a few coding & one AWS cloud practitioner certification and was about to go back to restaurant cooking until I was given a shot to do MFA + group policy tickets. Right now, I'm being given more responsibilities related to setting up service accounts and granting roles through Entra ID. Going through videos and even comments from channels like yours to learn IAM topics that aren't covered by my daily duties, still a ocean of stuff I gotta cover. I wanted to know what certs and projects (homelab) would you recommend for someone that's starting out entry level and wants to continue learning more about IAM?

You can look at okta, ping identity, sailpoint for iam stuff. The iam stuff I did in my previous role is specific to SentinelOne

Im in the process of transferring from helpdesk analyst to IAM Administrator. I have an interview next week and I really dont know how much to negotiate. The prior guy who was doing the position was making 72k. I was gonna ask 70k, but when I looked online, the pay is actually more like 80k and I dont know what to do. Does anyone have any advice?

Hi Kevin, I just finished all of my courses the other day at WGU for the B.S. Cybersecurity and Information Assurance degree, and I'm questioning my next move. No IT experience, but I know within the Cybersecurity world, I want to work in IAM. I have no idea how I go about landing an IAM job with no experience. What should I do to gain experience to be able to apply for any IAM jobs? Should I try and get a Certified Identity Access Management certification, work on getting experience first, or skip that cert altogether? Thanks for any help you're able to provide.
