❤❤❤❤ Wonderfully thoughtful and insightful reaction. The more I get into it the more I understand the ultimate masochism in this track. Destroying every existing system in one's life, both negative and positive, is a truly masochistic act. That doesn't mean great things can't arise from it, but it's a risky path. And you pointed out, much of what he's talking about killing is what divides people and causes misery in the world - politics, religion, selfish economic systems, amoral corporations, individual ignorance, and on and on. And what he's talks about killing in himself is old ideas, paradigms, and self concepts - his attachments that keep him stuck. I'd subscribe but I already did a while ago. ❤❤❤❤

Loved the way you broke this down. It seems he is challenging people to think beyond what offends them and see why we are all so divided while risking tearing down a chunk of his fan base. These things he's saying to kill actually cause people pain and suffering and they seek more of it rather than seek ways to break free of the chains and division that society builds. Great reaction! First time seeing you. Thanks 💜

It's a peculiar quirk of human nature, isn't it? We adore Ren for his raw honesty, yet when a new song like this comes along, suddenly, opinions start flowing like a river. Humans are a puzzle wrapped in a mystery, topped with a riddle! 😉 Im glad you read between the lines

I agree... Ren is never simple, even when he's just fooling around and having fun. It generally takes me several listens of Ren songs to get all the possible meanings. It's a bit like peeling the layers of an onion. Anyone who says that Ren just spits nonsense words needs to think less about what they want to say and listen more. The music will all hit us different ways and that will affect our opinions but one of the things I like most about the Ren community is there are those positive messages throughout Ren's music. Interesting that you mentioned Beastie Boys. I was thinking earlier that there was something about it that reminded me of Intergalactic.

One of the best reactions I have seen to this song! I love it ❤❤. The line "Kill these metaphors I write to all attachments in this life" really sums up the song, in my opinion. Powerful words.

On Ren's song Masochist, my thoughts. Sometimes when I listen to a Ren song I find myself trying to catch my breath and just try to remember to breath. Hard to keep up. This song and the one before were not my favorites. But hearing this one again more than once I am starting to like it more. It's like he is just getting all his built up anger and frustration out, and I feel like doing that almost every day. I just don't have a way to do it safely. What I used to do was right poetry or short stories when I was younger. Almost like a journal, my life's feelings in written word. Just the way that Ren is doing. When you live with health issues and chronic pain daily it's hard to distract yourself to something productive all the time. I'm older now, days and years are shorter. I think I gave up, and just try to accept how I feel physically and emotionally, the down side of that, most of my feelings I keep to myself. Family and friends just don't want to hear it anymore. Forget the psychological definition of masochist. Not everything refers to sexual gratification, or pleasure to oneself, it's more of an internal argument with yourself and hating everything, everyone and just destroy all of it. To just make yourself feel better, if only for a little while without really doing harm to others. To me in this song sounds more like a sadist talking, kill it all to feel better again. Just be glad he (and me) are not sadists. haha. The sexual part of that is all psychological bull shit. It mostly means turning pain in on yourself so as not to hurt anyone else, it sometimes might actually make you feel better for the release of anger, or what upsets you in your life. If only temporary. The sad part there are a lot of mentally ill people that can't do it this way and will just go out into the world to anyone they come across and just start killing them, hoping it will ease their pain and agony. Then they still turn the pain on themselves anyway by suicide. Sadomasochism among other things.

Relational. I'm sure you know what I mean by that. The big pause. Unity is the only way to move forward and stop the corruption.

I´ve loved your reaction. The best I´ve seen of this song. Knowing Ren, it is quite "easy" to understand what he is really meaning with those kill, kill, kill related to the title of the song (not sadist, but masochist).Though, not all reactors are reading this. New subcription!

At first this song was a bit intimidating for me from the surface side of the lyrics. Once i ssw your reaction and another persons reaction to it it has become my favorite of rens songs.nthe reason is the deep meaning of the song. I very strongly believe he is talking about the Dark Night Of The Soul. A intense spiritual awakening you go through when you have been so far removed from your authentic self that you have to become that masochist to kill everything that is keeping you from becoming your true authentic self. The various things he talks about whether its the religion, greed, politics, your culture, your race, your family, your significant other..... Anything that is keeping you from becoming your true authentic self. You need to kill off those things so you can reach true enlightenment and live a truly happy life. He sees people are seeking how to be happy more and more (especially with the way the eorld is currently) and he gave you a step ny step direction on how to reach that true happiness. Become the masochist and kill anything and everything that is keeping you from being you. It almost sounds like he is playing out a map for the world. Twin flames meeting (the spiritual counterpart to a person) is becoming more and more common in this lifetime and eith this song and a few others of his its like he is setting up a map for those struggling in their twin flame journey. The Dark Night Of The Soul phenomenon is very dark and intense and highly painful. It is agressive, it is dark. This song and the way it is being portrayed in the lyrics, The cadences, the visuals is exactly how it feels to go through the Dark Night Of The Soul process. Now im quite curious to see the song that would come once you have reached that enlightenment and you are your true authentic self. I believe it would be a bit of a part 2 to this song in a deeper sense but the opposite in terms of production, lyrics and the overall feel of the song.

"Kill the one upon the cross", is not the one nailed to the cross. "Upon" is the place where who order the crucifixion seats.

I love listening to Ren for those same reasons, to feel the emotion he engenders. Ive never been a hip hop fan, in fact quite averse to it. The monotone used by most rappers is so BORING. Ren's animation while rapping is what keeps me listening.
