My friend didn’t do leetcode when he was switching. He kept on giving interviews one after the other. He gave like 40-50 interviews over 3-4 months period and landed 8 offers. Got a increment of 300% with those offers. The key is you keep on giving interviews and study what you couldn’t answer.

This sounds like the same as doing Leetcode except instead of practicing by himself he was just practicing live in front of the interviewers

I have more than 30 years of experience and I manage teams at amazon, google and other big companies. When leetcode landed on interviews I realized a lot of developers were very good with leetcode problems, and horrible doing the regular day do day job. With that said, I explore questions related to the real work instead leetcode.

Leetcode, DSA, etc. are all 1 Prompt away using ChatGPT or Google or Microsoft AIs. AI will render 100% of computer software developer jobs useless in the next 2 to 5 years. And then all desk jobs, machine based jobs, etc. would be gone too. Finally, humanity would enjoy utopia. But that will happen after 2100. Until then, anyone alive would go through painful transitions.

in brief: The speaker has solved 950 coding questions over the years to improve their programming skills. T hey realized that the approach they took was not effective and made several mistakes. To avoid these mistakes, they suggest having a structure when learning new things, focusing on questions that are asked in interviews, challenging yourself but knowing when to give up, looking at multiple solutions and coding them yourself, and focusing on a topic rather than just the number of questions solved. The speaker believes that the quality of questions solved is more important than the quantity and suggests solving 200-300 quality problems as a starting point. They also suggest revisiting 70-100 problems before an interview for revision.

okay getting your point but you need to practice everyone thinks the same way that they need not to practice that much amount thy had practiced but you realise or not solving 950 questions helped your brain to immediately think about the solution other wise it will not come up with the solution.... every great coder becomes in a hard way , shortcuts will eventually help a handful of people , and hard way always better results!!

I am just starting my CSE study at a Engineering university. Learned the core concepts of C language and now trying to focus on problem-solving. The most annoying thing is that I waste a lot of time doing so it hampers my study of other subjects. Your time limit sounds nice to me but for somebody who is just starting out isn't it better for them that the solution naturally comes to their mind. Whats your thought on that. Please let me know.
@bhambhomoto4457
@bhambhomoto4457 Жыл бұрын
That's why no one telling truth, the time required to learn one language is more than atleast ten times than other courses, so it's not straight forward , people blindly choose CS or Coding but in reality very few real high paying coding jobs available so they shift their career afterwards. Further service based companies never discriminate between CS or Engg grad so person with Engg background with little knowledge of coding is more suitable than CS grad, as to solve real problems enginnering insight is more useful than coding. Also you need to learn atleast 4 to 5 languages to become eligible for interview which is again frustrating

Apologies, I would like to disagree with your methodology. The reason why one might be getting stuck with the window sliding problem or any other question in fact is because one has not considered picking a pen and paper first to solve the problem via dry run. It's extremely important to first understand the question first, chalk it out and then start typing. Also, giving yourself just 45 mins to solve a problem and then looking into solutions, will never increase one's problem-solving capacity. Ideally, in a work scenario, you will not have the privilege to existing solution, the company will expect you to come up with one. If your brain is not able to comprehend the problem and solve it then there is not much point. Be it hours or days, first take your time to come up with a solution. Once you have tried it and it works, only after that look into other solutions which may be more optimal.

Start your imagined complex project from scratch and watch how problems quides you. You cant learn shit from books and tutorils. You need to start build something and learn to pass any practical challenge. I done few projects, one 8 months, second 6 months. I pass through depression 3 times. After 3 to 5 big projects, you can do everything. Now, when i see project requirement, i have everything in my head in one second. From database design, relations and fields, through the backend, auth, frontend, CSS, Fremeworks/libraries, UI, UX. I can do everything alone fast as hell. I dont know how leetcode homepage looks like and i dont care. The things i know is you will never face almost any of those problems in your practical job. Mic dropped!
