Tip for newer watchers (I'm aware this video is old.) Record, photograph, and document EVERYTHING when you first move in. Its a shady world we live in and some apartment complexes will claim you damaged property and take legal action against you to pay it back. I'm talking about situations where you moved out and that hole in the wall was already there when you got there but they're blaming you. This will not only protect your behind, but could be used as evidence against them. Stay safe!
@AlysiaWilliams-oy5ti5 ай бұрын
That’s exactly why you take pictures before and after you leave that apartment complex!!

They do??? Do y'all not take Economics? My Coach/Teacher taught us a lot about budgeting, credit and gave us a project where we were assigned a random income and then had to actually calculate our budgets and simulate moving out. We even had a sub tell us how to be in job interviews. This video does go more in depth though!

That thing you said in 23:50 about dealing with family hits me to the core. I feel the NEED to move out, like my soul wants to be set free and become an independent woman. I always feel guilty about wanting to go away and do my own thing because none of my older siblings have done that before and coming from a traditional, old-school Filipino family, I feel like I'm betraying them.
@jashleycespedes22143 жыл бұрын
i feel the same way about feeling the NEED to move out, like i’m only 16, and i feel like being here after 21 i won’t be able to be free, i won’t be able to do the things i want to do because of culture or the way my family grew up, like i want to be able to be a free butterfly not have adults have any say in why IM doing, i want to be mentally and physically free and not feel the NEED to live up to my family’s adult expectations, but feel the NEED to live up to MY DREAMS.

I had a sad sudden realization that I shouldn't live for anyone other than myself. Meaning I didn't put much worth what happens to me but to everyone else around me. That is self destructive behavior in my opinion. I want to do things without being afraid how that might affect my family. Their wonderful but I gotta take care of myself first and become less dependant and more independent. Seeing your energy and being a complete boss is Inspiring and hope I get to that point really soon. 💚

Im 27 n gonna move out soon. Yeah im old blah blah i grew up with abusive papernts who told me my whole life im useless and unable to take care of my self they said it so much i believed them. So im scared shitless to move out because idk if i can survive, specially because i don't have anyone to fall back on. But this video really gave me confidence and knowledge. Maybe i can do it, the 50 30 20 sounds like a smart way to do things. Im scared but better than growing up to be 30 n still leaving at ur parents house out of fear right?

You did an AMAZING job at breaking it down. This is my most recommended video to show my friends that want to move out their parents. im 25 and lived on my own alone for a year now, it's great and simple as long as you manage money. Thank you for this video! 16:41 I was never taught this and I wish i knew for my first apartment 2 years ago.

This helped so much! Thankyou. After my fiance leaving for another girl, three months before I was to marry him and move across country, I felt very stressed and confused. I had sold half of my things, given up job opportunities, etc. Your advice has really helped me figure out how to get the life I planned to have, for someone who actually appreciates it. Me! So thankyou for helping me get my life on the track I want it to be on.

This was a really informative and thorough video! I’m 23 and currently getting my masters degree. Luckily for us there are student apartments available so we pay one price with everything included. However, once I complete my program, I’ll be apartment hunting for the first time in my life and this video was soooo helpful. Side note: I’ll definitely be consulting my “nice and melanated mama” for lease review! 🙌🏽
