3:33 Feels like a new beginning somewhere far away from everyone and everything. Finding yourself, realising everything that has happened, moving on, deciding to continue living your life the way that you want to live it. Memories are still there, they are in your head all the time, but you decide to fight them, you feel bipolar, anxious but happy. You don't know what home is anymore, but you still keep going.

3:38-6:20 sounds like someone whos moving on but is looking back one more time, either to burn the lingering memories into their brain or trying to find someone, anyone who will call out to them, to tell them that they dont have to go, before turning back around and moving forward. futurebound.

started listening to Eden in 2015. since then his every album has come out in different stage of my life where the next one was very very different from the previous one. and i tend to connect myself to the album so that whenever i go back to listen to it. i'm reminded how far i have come up and how much his words/music has helped me with my life in ways i can't put into words. and now he isn't some artist that paints the perfect picture but he himself has become an art to me. Thank you so much for making the music that talks to me when no one else does. 💕

The lyrics of this song remind me so much of Rock + Roll. I feel like this song was made as a letter to his fans, about how he feels as an artist and that he wants to move on. This song brought me to tears because it felt like I was saying goodbye to a friend id known forever. And Jon, if this truly is you telling us you want to move on, then do what you want to make yourself happy. Like you said, you dont need our permission to live life how you want it. I just want you to know that your music has made a significant impact on hundreds of thousands of people. My friends and I would listen to your songs while hanging out and we'd sing and cry together. You helped me get through so much in my life just by making your songs and letting your emotions flow. There are people that will love you and your music forever, myself included, and I am so grateful to have found you and to have seen the journey you've taken since then. Thank you, for creating this music, and for allowing us to relate with you on a personal level.

Damn. I needed this song. You have such an amazing discography and it always seems to hit right when I need it. The original Fumes? I was shipped off to Boot Camp and struggling and contemplating suicide. But, running on fumes I made it through the night. Digging into The Eden Project later, I found Statues, which finally helped me make peace with my mom’s BPD and my Dad’s attempt at polyamory absolutely destroying her for years. Struggling to find my identity, out comes Nocturne on End Credits, and I realise that only in the night will I ever make headlines. Still hate having to work in the day. As my then 5-year relationship started to crack at the seams, ITYTTMM came out, and Sex Drugs and and helped me deal with it. I stayed in that relationship though, long enough for it to start to feel emotionally abusive for both of us. And the entirety of Vertigo helped give me the courage to break that relationship after a few years. How did I get this all wrong? No I can’t escape this fall. Then I went to your concert in Auckland, NZ for the Vertigo tour. That’s the first time I drank, and it was a pivotal moment in my life. My pink long sleeve from that concert is, to this day, a way I can signal to my family that I’m not doing well, but I don’t want to talk about it. It’s also, of course, where I first heard nowhere else, which is still one of my favourite songs of yours. So many unrequited crushes encapsulated in there. Now, this song comes in after I’ve moved to the USA to make some money to pay for my degree (which I’m still kinda conflicted on since the whole point of getting the degree was to give me something to do to keep my mind off my disintegrating relationship, but whatever,) and now for healthcare reasons I’m staying behind in the USA instead of returning to study. I have no idea where I am or where I’m going. But what I do know, is that I struggle to walk the streets of my home city because of all the memories I shared with her. And I think this song has finally started me towards healing that. Nowhere feels like home. My mental health is drastically improved waiting tables, smiling to stranger’s faces and trying to give them the best service I can. Getting caught up in the race of it. Falling out of years-old habits. No more sleeping my days away just to wake up, shower, maybe eat, then go back to sleep. No more bleeding for empathy’s sake. If you couldn’t tell, I love your poetry.
