I grew up riding and you couldn’t pay me to have that plush thing in my house 😂 you were cracking me up with your description of how creepy it is! That saddle box is beautiful but imo purely for home decor use. Saddles have very specific storage requirements, especially high quality ones, so you don’t warp the tree or end up with stretching or other problems. Which leads me to my next point: I know of only one jtem that has resulted in automatic bag offer, and that is having a custom saddle made. I know two people who have an Hermes saddle (they are STUNNING btw!) and for both of them, at their saddlery appointment, at their home, they were offered their choice of an assortment of what we would now call quota bags (as well as other leather goods). No buying history for either of them. BUT!!! - And this is a huge caveat - this was in the early 2000s before QB insanity. Of course I have no idea if this has ever happened outside of these two instances, but for me two makes a pattern… and both of these people definitely didn’t have a purchase history of record. So if anyone splashes out for a saddle and gets offered a bag on the side, report back lol.

Also it is much more likely to get a bag in the first part of the month, because they have monthly quotas for selling that they can't go over, except very very rarely.. but basically never... even if they have bags, if they meet their quotas, then they are done, so if your boutique is busy, they won't be able to sell any quota bags at the end of the month. I've had to wait till the beginning of a month before for the call to come and get it for a birkin i wanted. This is in the boutique i shop regularly in... which is very very busy and competitive.

rec'd my first hermes scarf in 1990's from my grandmother, hooked ever since - it depends on one's SA and the relationship one has with SA (most important imo) + stay with one store + better outside of cities in US, having knowledge of brand helps too for bags, people don't understand that even bags like picos are not readily available in one's perfect color, patience important + do not buy anything that you don't love

I agree that buying furniture, does accelerate your chances of getting ones dream bags or rare bags. When my cousin was building her house she bought a couple of Hermes sofas and armchairs in the Sellier collection, a set of 12 dining room chairs, a dining table, and full collections of their crockery and china sets. She was offered a pink picto kelly doll, black birkin crocodile touch, and a birkin picnic 25 within a space of 18 months

Happy 4th🎉! I totally agree with your assessment and reviews of these Hermes’ special pieces. There really isn’t a guaranteed method to be offered the quota bags. However, it does seems to “speed up” the wait time when high ticketed items such as fine jewelry are in one’s purchase history. 😅 I waited about 2 years for the Kelly chain with diamond sangles bracelet. Within 3 months of that purchase, I was offered 2 bags, a Bolide and a Birkin 30 in neutral colors. 😉

I like the China system. They tell you exactly how much to pre-spend for a quota bag. There is no mystery. You are not in a fog and continuously buying stuff you barely want in hoping you get that quota bag of your dreams. Personally, I prefer the MJ set or the celestial globe over a quota bag…. But that’s just me. 😅
