In this video KARRA walks you through her songwriting process when solely working with a simple chord progression. She uses Ableton as her DAW, the UAD Console App to record latency free, a chord progression from Reid Stefan's Poppin Progression pack, and KARRA for Waves plugin preset to complete a songwriting idea from scratch. She gives you tips and tricks on how to write convincing melodies and lyrics, and tops it off with vocal harmonies and adlibs! The purpose of this tutorial is to show how you can go from a chord progression to a finished song.

@yourright4833

I find it amazing that we both do the same thing with are hands when we sing. For me, it just feels right and I typically like doing things that feel right as well. Intuition is really great sometimes but we often as musicians seem to forget that most normal people can't do the things that we do. Most people would settle for less and be fine with just doing things one time through with out looking at other possible outcomes. Its our job and career to get as close to perfect as possible when we trying to convey our emotion and how we feel in at the time because like a camera, we capture an image and we polish it to show the world we see to other people. Music is the same way as like the camera, we polish every single second of audio to convey the feeling from our perspective and POV in the moment. Those who know how to take everything seriously are the bread winners at the end of the day, but those who are gifted and talented at what they do combined are the true leaders such as yourself Translation: Hard work beats talent any day until talent decides to work hard. Like Rock Lee from Naruto, he will never be better than Naruto Uzumaki despite all the hard work he puts in. He's achieved a level of greatness but is unable to truly surpass Naruto. The moment that Naruto decided to work hard and take action, Lee was never able close the gap. Its fine being normal but those with gifts and talents who do work hard are meant to be the ones who lead us as spoiler alert incoming: Naruto becomes Hokage and achieves all that he wants and dreams. Karra is Naruto. You the audience are Lee, although there are some of you who are meant to be Naruto. At the end of it all, regardless whether your or not your Naruto, Rock Lee or Guy Sensei, your hard work will pay off and you will impact more people you can ever imagine if taken the right steps are taken as long as you give your all and commit to giving it your all. Even if your all is just 1% give it 100% of that 1% in that moment. There somethings that your not going to want to do but will benefit you in the long run. gravitate towards people who have a good mindset as the more you hang around certain people, the more you will inherit there knowledge, especially with people who have had the experience like Karra and Reid Stefan who have been where many of you want to be in life. Hang around a certain group of people that are headed the same direction as you and you'll grow tremendously. Hang around 4 billionaires, you might not be a billionaire but you'll inherit there mindset that can potentially make you millions. Same can unfortunately be said about the opposite. Hang around 4 alcoholics and you might just end up the fifth. Thank you for taking the time to reading this Ted Talk! I hope I was able to provide you with some valuable information that will help propel you forward in this journey we call LIFE

i always get the most love for my lyrics and am MUCH more confident in that vs. melody, but MAN it is hard to start with lyrics because it takes SO long (for me) to compose a compelling + catchy melody using a set of exact words. i watched the vid you & reid made of "heavy heart" and was inspired to try it your way, starting with emotion and gibberish, and now i'm never going back to writing lyrics first lol. i've never been so confident in my songs so thank u :)

This is the best Example that you can write an entire Song on just a simple Loop with just one or two Elements in it! Sometimes it's hard to write Melodies & Lyrics if too much Elements and Melodic Parts goes on in the Beat. I think the Key is to start as soon as possible with Melody and Lyrics and than you can lay down the Beat Production, Composition, Arrangement around the Vocals which are the Main Elements in a Pop Song and work it out!
