Police almost Killed me || iam_marwa , This happened in the Dominican Rep in a small City Called Santiago de los Caballeros. I was with my GoPro filming downtown where all over sudden 2 guys with no police unform in the streets attacked me as you see in the video , the 1st guy who had no uniform in the room started slapping me , that is when i pulled my camera and start recording , then i told him i will sue him that is when he stopped. i was bleeding from my mouth. i personally feel this police harrased me because i was black and they thought i was from Haiti , which in Most cases go through this type of treatment in the hands of the Dominican Police. I hope this 2 criminals will be terminated for misuse of Power and the responsibillty that they have of protecting people.

I’m actually here in the Dominican Republic, and although the beaches are nice, some more than others, the city is covered in electric cables. It’s one of the worst city planning I’ve ever seen. The police are criminals. They will stop you for no reason and look for a bribe or take your vehicle for no reason. I bought a brand new motorcycle and purchased a yearly insurance, but the dealer gave me a temp card for a month, and a route card until the plates arrived. They took my bike and held it until the plates arrived. The bike is all scratched. Again a brand new bike and they don’t give a damn. You can visit this dump, but to retire, there are much better places. Don’t walk around with your cell visible, you might be shot for it.

Marwa you have to understand that you're a guest in some elses country. It was obvious you were recording some type of investigation/ police matter. Now, the cop that hit you was in the wrong, but as you yourself stated, the other cops said to release you. I don't think it is as a smart move for you to upload this video , to make them look bad. Remember Colombia denied your visa, probably because someone complained about you video taping, or the subject matter of your videos. If you get banned from the DR where will you go!?. I would strongly advise that whenever you plan on filming a foreign country, go and ask the embassy or a local police station if it is ok. This way you can play it safe. On another note, never show signs of weakness. Crying as a grown man in a situation like that is not good, and makes you a target. I would strongly advise you to leave teh DR, as the larger the view count gets, the more dangerous it will be for you there.

I was in Santiago and Puerto Plays this pass summer and witnessed in two separate occasions cops roughing up Haitain vendors.
