red rocket is a good place. scrap every thing in sanctuary then take the junk from the workbench and bring it to red rocket. so you can build a water pump there

The chemist perk is very useful in normal survival, less items in frost though so not sure if it would have the same benefits

Take the perk lone wanderer! 50% more carry weight and 50% more dmg protection! Edit: Use Garden plots, so u can grow food inside ur base and use pillar glitch and rugs to build better, u know, glitch shit into other shit

petart u scrapped the hard hat butu could have used it with the flashlight mod at the armor workbench that is outside, is a good source of light and Is the only u could use cause the pip boy is not working and u need a power armor to have one
