He was born with dwarfism and has therefore lots of health issues (brittle bones was one) and due to him living with them they know right away when something is wrong. Plus they give him all the extra nutrition and exercise he needs. Masha even quit her job as a lawyer so Messy wouldn't be alone. He has the whole house and yard available, he's not caged. I would think if he wasn't satisfied first he would pee all over (as your reg. cat does) and tear up furniture, hiss.....!

So ... An empty large water bottle is a super attractive and fun toy for a Cougar, nothing expensive required. Messi just didn't want to be satisfied with not playing the full water bottle, not knowing it could break, splash all over him, and flood the floor! Messi had so much fun with the empty bottle!! Messi was panting with GLEE over the empty bottle, and its crackling sounds!! We learn here that Cougars, once socialized, are very similar to regular small house cats, just bigger, with all the potential consequences of being the size of a large dog!
