They had fun because most of them were mutual friends or colleagues before Phantom Singer. Some go way back to their university days, other had already crossed paths in musical theater. Classical crossover wasn't really a high profile genre or viewed as a commercially viable genre when they first started Phantom Singer. In fact many of these classically trained guys got flack for going into crossover / musical theater instead of opera and crossover groups that already existed tried and failed to get publicity or popularity........until Phantom Singer. It became a huge hit among voice majors that they brought it back for season 2 (and now they just finished season 4 last year).

I would love it if JTBC could get all the groups back together! Unfortunately, I think it's a tough task to juggle everyone's schedules. POV: It would be crazy if after more than half of the song Mingyu realized that his mic was off! Luckily that wasn't the case 😅
