Honestly I think everyone feels depressed once in a while but if you make it a habit it's called a depressed. But the origins of a depression are pretty normal, so everyone can get out of their depressions! I was never depressed but I was down for a while so I grew a different taste in music....until today! Such songs fit my taste of music, I wouldn't call it emo music like some people do.

Chris Corner, during out my teenage years (still going through adolescents, how crazy it is when your mind is so different from when your 13 to when you're 50.) I've been listening to all of your songs. I love how you created them, some with certain meanings, which sometimes I spend hours trying to figure out what's the meaning in your songs. They're brilliant. I am 16 now and listening to your voice calms me every time. I am transitioning, y'know, being a male that happens to be trans, and just listening to your music, voice, harmony, just makes me feel oddly better besides the crisis and moronic events happening throughout my life. I had crushes on you since you are terribly handsome and how you talk so soothingly, but aside that, you must be the most imaginative, creative, brilliant person I've seen so far. I wish to meet you, but sadly I have no money and have issues at the moment. But that's okay because it just is. Thank you, Chris, personally and your people who is in IAMX. Your music is what helps me go throughout the hellish days. I hope the best of you, take care.

Here's the description in case some missed it ^-^ "The Void represents the end of an era. The completion of my own personal transformation after a 2 year battle with depression and chronic insomnia. It's an addendum to the album Metanoia. The video is a fusion or a mashup of all the IAMX videos during this period. Some shot and directed by me, some by others. I see it as a celebration of my own private victory, my new found inner strength and also a symbol to my audience or anybody searching that life is extraordinary and happiness is conquerable. I've spent years putting together abstract visuals for our multimedia stage shows so I felt the video could also reflect this. There is no mind numbingly banal narrative, just a throbbing collage of transient images. The way my reality is and the way I love it."

Thank you, Chris and crew, for this. I started to pull myself out of a very serious major deppressive episode two days ago, coinciding with the end of a relapse of a very serious brain disease. I see hope and joy and happiness now, where for a year there was none. I'm finally at peace with myself and my life, and this video could not possibly have come at a better time for me. Your music has helped me through some very bad situations over the past decade. I was too sick to see you in concert, and was devastated. But instead, I rolled around on the floor with my daughter and listened to some of your uplifting music ("Quiet the Mind", etc.) and it helped me reprioritize in light of my disease, and realize that I make my own peace and joy. And because of that, I started crawling out from under that clinging black pall. This video is helping me move on and cement my recovery, physically and mentally. Truly, I just went outside and walked a bit for the first time in months, because I finally could. I'm so glad you were able to pull yourself out of that crushing illness, too. It's the hardest and most worthwhile thing a person can do. I wish you continued healing and happiness. Truly. Thank you, for this and for everything. It means more to me, to know I'm not alone in depression and anxiety, and to know that happiness is attainable, than I have the words to express.

In a world so devoid of hope, just having it is in itself a victory. We need more art that gives us that. This is a bright beautiful candle of hope. Even depression can be beat. You capture the experience of it so well, but at the same time even more than that this song captures that transition of seeing the light creep in through the dark glasses that is depression.
