Beautiful song. Reminds me of a character from a book I read who is desperately trying to restore the old world order in a post-apocalypse so that she can fulfil the societal role she was raised for, even though said role is defunct in the post-apocalypse, was corrupt/damaging in the pre-apocalypse, and no longer fits her after everything she's been through.

​@@who2449 ok uh. the awkward part is. I was kind of lying. This is one possible interpretation, but the narrative seems to agree with this character, so it's probably not the intended one. I kinda wrote it to vent about how her potential is not fulfilled. Also, it's a web serial, and it's a sequel to another really long web serial. But if you're still interested, the serial is Ward, by Wildbow. Sequel to Worm by the same guy (googling worm wildbow will get you the site). I thoroughly enjoyed Worm (it's a dark superhero/supervillain story with some great worldbuilding), so I'd recommend that wholeheartedly if you like the genre. Ward is more divisive, I neither loved nor hated it, but sometimes the themes and worldbuilding are incoherent. The author had less time to spend on it, and unfortunately it shows. Ward does have some diehard fans though, and I genuinely think this song fits the MC. So it's not without its high points.
