I've loved Ian Anderson since I was a very young hippie in the late 60's, and used to follow Jethro Tull playing the London scene. Original, unique, talented, handsome and intelligent.With that lovely voice, I'm still in awe of you.

Tull has been my fav for 5 decades......there is something about the music that I just love....a Celtic flavour I think....

When I was 12 in '71, a deejay on the radio played Aqualung for the first time. I was clandestinely listening with headphones because it was a school night and I was supposed to be sleeping. The song blew me away. He said he was going to play the track again the following night, about 10:30. I set up my trusty Wollensak T-1500 reel-to-reel and mic in my mom's office right outside my bedroom, so as to not wake up my older brother who I shared the room with. Right in the middle of Martin's guitar solo the next night, my dad heard the music upstairs and came flying down the steps and loudly hollered at me for being up so late. It was all obviously captured on tape. The recording was good for endless laughs with my friends. Of course, I bought the LP within a week or two and have been a Tull fan ever since. Eventually I lost track of the tape. I'd give anything to have it back again.

To reduce my opinions or feelings about Ian to one word, especially "hostility" is unwarranted, rude, and obnoxious. Sometimes I am critical of Ian, but I would not say I am hostile. Do you ever listen to Ian. He has been insulting and hostile to people like Paul McCartney, and even admitted so much. Would you then go and color everything about Ian because of that? Who knows what he meant by some of his comments? Perhaps you perceive it as hostile because you are kind of a sycophant who feels you have to defend Ian by attacking me.

The main flute melody to Thick as a Brick is Follow the Yellow Brick road..Oz..just backwards and a hop in the rhythm.same notes..still Ian and Glenn.. Clive.. Martin and John Evan were absolutely Genius chemistry..after that still good but not at all as great as 68-71..Zepplin even tho sold more album's had nothing on Tull in those early year's went toe to toe ..

1:15 - Ian admits Thick As A Brick is a concept album ... whatever that is. Thanks for posting, this is interesting. I wonder what Ian would say about this now? What happened to the audio in the beginning it cuts out for a bit ? This is amazing, so unguarded and stream of consciousness, and today every interview he says the same thing. It is so sad that Ian is so inhibited from being himself these days, he has to be a performing machine always talking about money. He has well-deserved success, but now he is like his own industry.

I love almost everything Jethro Tull or Ian Anderson has done, but this new symphonic stuff hits me like garbage ... it is like gilding the lily. Older stuff that had symphonic arrangements were done very well by D. Palmer, but Ian just seems to overdo it.

Last bit of the interview is interesting. There's a lot of pieces of the Ian Anderson and Jethro Tull story. Some that suggest something very strange happened to Ian. He was the only 70's rock star to try to appear wilfully UNATTRACTIVE to his audience both male and female. The music itself wrong-footing the audience of the time in terms of timing or harmony, All vey curious, with many pieces of the puzzle.

Shlomo Wasser ...I've come across 3 people that have met him. All say he's a great person and a very charismatic character. He's a talent you don't often come across. If he seems verbose to you, it might be because he's a smart confident person that enjoys what he's been doing for years. The guy just played in my city this week and he's 70 years old. What's your reason for even watching the video?

He is obviously trying here, to impress this young adoring interviewer with his intellectual prowess, in hopes of demonstrating some other prowess after the interview, she is eating out of his hand letting him control the interview. I loved his music at the time, saw him in concert several times in the 60's and seventies, an awesome creative talent but a total egotistic shit in personal interviews.
