I disagree with Ian Bremmer in some areas, but he's a good speaker and I share his preference for global cooperation over war. I found it puzzling that like many mainstream journalists and speakers lately, IAN avoided mentioning BRICS, which is a growing global development central to his topic. Is it because the growth of BRICS brings his perception of our western dominated 'global world order' into question?

Is BRICS even really a thing though? The Brazilians are western hemisphere centric. The Russians are international pariahs. The Indians are quasi-isolationists. The Chinese are having major economic problems, and South Africa is a basket case. There's no alliance there economic or otherwise. They all have seperate interests, that some times clash violently like with the Chinese and the Indians who are the two most powerful members since the Russians invaded Ukraine.

@@chrisreed4065 That may have been so, but global alliances are shifting. Many new countries have requested inclusion into BRICS, presumably to bypass the US$ and/or to avoid US tariffs. BRICS is growing as a trade alternative and it's at least worthy of consideration.

@@JohnPartyka So let's say that they come up with a BRICS dollar. Who mananges it? The Chinese? They would manipulate it to the other members expense. The Russians? Same deal. The Brazilians don't have the wherewithal and anyone who would suggest South Africa would be laughed out the room. That leaves the Indians, the Russians might go for that but the Chinese would walk. This would also mean that India would stop being a fence-sitter in regards to U.S./Russia which would be a complete one-eighty of their foreign policy since the founding of the nation, by putting them firmly on the Russian side. If not in actuality then at least in the mind of the U.S. State Department.

Good talk though as an Israeli with a day by day understanding of the Middle East I disagree with the statement that Netanyahu does not want peace and prosperity and a cooperative just and equitable end to the current conflicts. Iran getting nuclear weapons is the biggest geo political issue we aren’t focusing on. It doesn’t look like anyone can really stop them save a boots on the ground intervention. Once they test a successful weapon, Saudi and the gulf states will quickly go nuclear. We are on the brink of a nuclear Middle East.
