What I personally find interesting, is that very little if Ian Flemings novels actually made it to film. Out of all 21 of Flemings 007 stories, only 7 have been adapted to film in more then just name

Interestingly, the reporter interviewing Fleming asks Fleming if at some point in the future, Fleming would kill off James Bond in one of Fleming's novels - that happened at the end of "From Russia With Love", but Fleming brought Bond back in the next novel, "Dr. No".

Dr No was the first movie (1962) and really launched the franchise. Bond wasn't really killed as he only fell and crashed to the wine-red floor!

Imagine what Ian Fleming's net worth would be in today's dollars considering that he would undoubtedly receive a percentage of the gross profits of each Bond film because the films use many of the characters he created! Also imagine how hugely financially successful the Bond novels would be for Fleming in today's world!

Please tell me, Now that his son is gone, Who will receive the profits from The Franchise?

@@堀尭久. In the United Kingdom, copyright extends for 70 years after the death of an author, so Ian Fleming's heirs will continue to receive royalty payments from the sales of Fleming's books through 2034 since Ian Fleming died in 1964. Whether or not his heirs receive a percentage of the profits from the James Bond film franchise I don't know.
