when he goes TOO MUCH is wrong with me, it breaks my heart. I mean, all Gallagher kids have their problems but unlike Ian they usually get support from family members. Ian is just so keeping most of his troubles to himself which he shouldn’t but, ugh... ”I’m sorry you’re hurting baby” Monica might not be a good mother but I’m glad she was someone Ian found comfortable turning to.

Ian went to h*ll and back multiple times and his siblings didnt care enough because they didnt know what he was going through but Monica did. Monica was one of the only reasons Ian was able to stay happy. Ian deserves they world man he grew and suffered but he learned in the end that you can truly be happy.

Something that really bothers me is the fact he always somewhat slips through the cracks with his family. Like they often don't even know what's up in his life, except for Lip maybe. It's been pretty consistent over the seasons, when he left for the army no one came looking at first, when he took off with Monica it was Mickey who called the most (don't know if anyone else was showed calling him) and when he went to Mexico and his lies about that time didn't match up no one asked because they didn't listen closely enough to notice. Even in s10 when he came back from prison he talked to Lip and tried to talk about his life several times though the topic always shifted right back to Lip. I think he's always been a little distant to the rest of his family and I'm pretty sure that's where a lot of his insecurities stem from as well, on top of his bipolar

THANK YOU FOR THIS, you captured the true essence of this character. Ian was and still is such a sweetheart boy who deserved way better. So many people hate on him but they really can't see how he just have always tried to do better, to be his best version. I love him with my whole heart and this makes me cry like a baby 🥺💗

Great video, Ian is the best. I hope whenever Shameless ends that Ian gets the happy ending he deserves. I just wish some people in his family had supported him more throughout the show. Frank especially has never been there for ian, I know Frank is always a douche but with his other kids he has rare moments where he shows he cares but never for ian. Instead in the early seasons he even hit him.

This actually made me cry so much and the funny thing is im still crying i watched this twice i feel so empathetic towards ian his character is amazing but his bond with his mother so strong they ran away together i feel like the times when Monica came back was mostly to see ian yea she saw her family but she mostly cares about ian she always supported him and cared for him when nobody else did and thats the beautiful thing about Monica their were so alike they both had bipolar disorder both did crazy shit in the past but moncia did love ian and ian probably loved her too i can tell he was hurt when he found out she was dead he probably felt like their was no one in the world who understand him.
