Shavkat has already shown that he does not have elite wrestling. He has good control and good submissions, but he does not have good takedowns. He struggled to take down Thompson and was unable to take down Geof Neal, I believe that Ian Garry has the ability to defend all of Shavkat's takedowns, In the exchange he is a little better but the plan is to keep the fight standing and not let himself get cornered, Everyone knows what Ian Garry needs to do to win but no one knows how Shavkat will win, But as long as the fight remains in the center octagon Ian Garry has the best chances

Ian Garry is great to listen to when he just talks fighting and isn't trying to be a Conor-style trash talker. Clearly a scholar when it comes to the fight game. Also, the fact that he didn't hesitate to take the Buckley fight, then the Shavkat fight when it came up, is very respectable. I hope he can stop the cringe stuff and just lean into his current iteration. Maybe he'll someday be the opposite of Izzy, who was cool during the come-up and insufferable as a champ. All this said, Shavkat is the most special fighter in the UFC right now. Could turn out to be an absolute legend, and I hope he subs Ian (as he claims to have done during those sparring sessions). Very excited for this fight.
