Step 2: have procreate app💀

You can also do it this way- On a layer paint ur gradient Add a layer on top of the gradient layer and fill the canvas with black On the black layer, double-tap on the eraser tool and select ur brush. Write or draw with that eraser and ur done!

Like- It’s so natural to use, I fell in love so hard after using so many programs like clip studio paint, easy paint tool SAI, and so many more in the past- Procreate has just.. simplicity but also such a natural feel to it? And making custom brushes is so damn easy like wtf

you can also: put a layer with the gradient add a layer below the gradient clip the gradient onto the empty layer (click the gradient layer, select 'clipping mask') reselect the empty layer and write/draw away :3 (with pen, dont erase)

This was fun to try. Shout out to all the folks in the comments I I who offered alternative methods to getting this look. You really can use any brush you have free or paid. The point of the short is to highlight the steps of creating the gradient using layer functions. Any brush will work once you get the other steps worked out. 😊

Okay I figured it out. Your layer is white because you didn't invert it. Also once you invert the layer after you mask it, it should turn black. Then select a white color pic and how should be able to see it then. Hope that helps
