I kept evading employees😂🙈 and luckily the store has two floors, so it wasn’t hard to find little corners I could crash in for a while!

@@iangubeli I was noticing that everytime you had a different corner … I am trying this video also but less time 2 hours or 3 and taking my friend with me to keep me company and she is going to write the prompts for me and record me reading and we will invade employees where we can. But we also each plan on buying a book in the end and getting coffee at their coffee shop. I loved you doing an entire day this was so good!

This is such a creative idea! Loved it! I'd hate having to change books so much not gonna lie. The stranger that bought you a book was so nice. 😊 At least got through most of One Dark Window. I'm only 60ish pages into it right now. It's going alright so far for me. A little unsure of what is happening, but intrigued to find out.

I like the idea of the video but would be better if you did it in a library. You read one book for two hours and almost 300 pages of another. Think about the people that come after you and want to buy that book. It's not really "new" anymore. Unless you bought those but it didn't really seem like you did and you also didn't say you bought them either.

Honestly there are so many people who go to bookstores and probably read through and handle the books. And I don’t get the impression that Ian is the kinda guy that is gonna mess up the book ie break the spine or get it intentionally dirty while doing this. He event puts it back each time lessening the chance of it getting messed up in moving around.

So many people read full books or even flip open books to read a couple pages at book stores it’s still new… it’s like if u went into a clothing store tried something on then someone else bought it.. it’s still a new shirt to them

Ethically for the author I wouldn’t read any in a book store. And as a consumer I wouldn’t want creases/ damage whatever. A library would have been better.

I don’t know how it’s like for other bookstores but I work at a big bookstore and my associates and I are allowed to rent out books from the store to take home and read 😆 They then go back on the shelf… so it happens often that people read those new books and leaf through them before they get purchased by others.

I went to target on my day off and spent like 30min in the book aisle. The worker asked me if he can’t help me cause he seen me standing there forever 😂😂😂. It was a day off so and I usually get rushed by my family. This time I went alone and figured I can take assss linnggg as I want. Well nope bc after the worker said that I felt some type of way and left. 😂 can’t imagine being in Barnes that long and not getting kicked out. You’re braveee.

I actually really loved this video idea although if it was me I would have been stressed about all the books that are now started because a majority of the books you read are on my TBR. I would feel the need to finish them all asap lol. I would have been interested to hear your thoughts of the pages you read of each book as well and if you were open to wanting to finish them at a later date.

I am completely OCD. If I spotted someone reading a book and put it back I won’t touch it. I always browse for the best copy and if all of them are damaged, no sale. Good video 😅

Deciding what the different book prompts is the hardest thing for me to come up with 😅 I love the reading a book for 30 minutes if the prompt doesn’t require a time limit. Did you end up buying any of the books that you picked up ? 😅 I highly recommend not to continue verity or any Colleen hoover books because they are all super problematic and have so much trigger warnings. I have heard great things about Hail Mary, The Night Circus, and Love Theoretically has the least amount of spice and I love all Ali Hazelwood books. As for the choose a book I would have picked Check & Mate. And for you I definitely think that you would like Ken Follett books. Loved this vlog again it was brilliant 🧡💯‼️

I would feel so awkward in a bookstore like reading a whole book / multiple books and I swear I would get so mad getting so far in and having to move on to a whole new book or starting the book over , NOPE. This is a cool idea; I’d enjoy seeing again. I echo the others asking to please use the library in the future for these, however, as they are more suited to this type of all day stay and multiple book reading/ very short-term borrowing. Would also help spread awareness for libraries and give you easy access to some more older works that could add twists to the challenge!
