Good sportsmanship is the winner here. Both were cheering each other on. And these two have really good chemistry.
@captainbryce111 ай бұрын
The results make sense because women's gymnastics focuses more on leg and back flexibility (beam leaps/choreography), whereas men's gymnastics focuses much more on strength and shoulder flexibility (rings/parallel bars). So I always expect a female gymnast to have more leg and back flexibility, and the male gymnast to have more upper body strength and shoulder flexibility. The acrobatic elements can go either way. Traditional thinking suggests that men have an advantage here because the sport requires more difficult elements to train on vault and floor. However, Simone Biles has been systematically destroying this theory for years. People like Jake Jarman and Kenzo Shirai are anomalies. So I agree that this is likely to end in a tie and I'm glad it did. Very entertaining.

What’s stunning is how much of gymnastics relies on the constant adaptability and growth of the athlete… I mean, granted, I’m not super athletic, so maybe I’m just underestimating other sports, but it seems like for the most part, other sports go along the lines of: get strong, learn to do your job, stay strong, get as good as you can at a job that stays roughly the same throughout your career. Whereas gymnastics, it’s like “okay… I’m strong, and I’m good at this set of skills… now let’s spend my entire career constantly learning more and more things to do the job… and only really stop (or just slow down) if/when my body can’t take it any more” 😂 👏 the endurance through it all, and the crazy stuff you guys can continuously learn to do with your bodies is mind blowing to me. Great video! ❤

I find it weird how women's and men's gymnastics aren't just women and men doing gymnastics, they're basically different sports. And women's gymnastics conceptually interests me far more, and though I don't do gymnastics anyway I wonder how annoying it would be if I wanted to the _women's_ kind of gymnastics but was made to do the _men's_ kind, or the other way around.

Back when I was in middle school and full of misplaced confidence, I thought I could do a front flip off a springboard, since I could do a rollie pollie on the floor and figured it was exactly the same. I ran up and did the forward flip. Or I tried to because my knees clocked me in the head and knocked my glasses off, and then I near landed on my head (albeit on the mat) and nearly gave myself a concussion Let's just say the PE teacher had an eye on me for the rest of the year and banned me from forward flipping unless on the floor
