Great video I thought about how I would do it before watching and was almost right. I was thinking rough out the whole shape including the three pockets to start but then I would not be able to make use of the linear pattern. So must remember to look for that in future. Thanks for the tips! I dont mind longer videos its more info for us to learn.

Thank you for this turorial series. I'm a retired mechanical engineer who used Creo for work, and just now getting back to designing for 3D printing as a hobby. I am using Rev. 1.0 official release. The one area that I could not get to work is scketching a pocket on the XZ plane and the offsetting the sketch plane. I could not get the Placement Position dimention to change. I ended up sketching on the face then mirroring the pocket.
@AdventuresincreationАй бұрын
That's curious. You should be able to simply change the attachment location. - A thought! - double check which parameters you are changing, there are two that are similar one is placement (you can't change this) the other is attachment. You should be changing the attachment.
@Snuffly_LockerАй бұрын
@@Adventuresincreation Thank you so much! You were right. There is a "Position" under "Placement" as well as under "Attachment Offset".

Greate video trying to learn cad for 3d printing thank you so much i also now just hear the word Sketchhhh in my head the way u said it lol

I 3D print stuff all the time. I am currently printing some stands for some laser cut wooden items and a mount for an outside solar light.

It's for a surround on door blinds.

Thanks great tutorial. The one thing that didn't work was that linear alignment at the 26 min mark but otherwise learn a lot. looking forward to more of your videos.

Would you be able to provide a dimensioned drawing for your models so we can print it out or have it available on screen as we try to draw our attempt? I am thinking a tech drawing taken off your model rather than a hand sketch. Thanks

Is it possible to create a plane from/on a model face.? Thanks
@AdventuresincreationАй бұрын
Yes, you can do that. But it is possible that the topligical naming issue could be problem then. If you are linking to a face you could just use that face to attach the sketch to.
@slpk10 күн бұрын
What is the need to have fully constrained sketches?
@Adventuresincreation10 күн бұрын
You can model without fully constrained sketches, the only danger is that something gets modified without the constraint in place. It's good practice to constrain the sketches.
