Hello Ianna this is Olivia once again. I am actually from Ghana. In your video, you said protective styles are not good for thinning hair because of the tension rather if it's breaking. Do I always have to leave it on in bands just like that for the 6months before touch-up. Suggestions please. And can pink oil be used as a moisturiser? If no, can I be given some examples of moisturisers. Thank you.

I find that i am finally retaining length but i t strangely sheds a lot. I am thinking of getting a wider comb. Or perhaps olaplex or revolution plex.. what do you thing?
@IannaYvonne3 жыл бұрын
Hello. Thank you for watching! As for your question, olaplex is excellent for hair breakage. However if your hair is shedding it may not help much. How is your nutrition? You may need supplements if it’s lacking. Also how is your scalp health? Dandruff, dryness inflammation? Scalp health is sooo important for hair health. If so you may need to address these issues with a good scalp oil/treatment. I use a vegan oil that helped my dryness. Also address any circulation issues with scalp massage. If you are noticing other symptoms with the shedding ( like unexplained weight loss) it could be hormonal as well.
@juliamalbrook30433 жыл бұрын
@@IannaYvonne well it could be that i need some supplements.. My scalp is ok. A little bit of dandruff when i was in braids recently, but overall ok. I have coarse hair, it feels rough & tangly but i just don't like that each time i comb it or pass my hand in it, it sheds.

For me, washing my hair multiple times a week is equal to high manipulation and stripping the hair for no reason. @PweetyTiffo3 жыл бұрын
Flaky, that's maybe dandruff. Get ketoconazole or selsun blue
@IannaYvonne3 жыл бұрын
Hello! I agree.... the flaking could be dandruff which is often due to fungal overgrowth or Oily scalp. If the flakes at large, yellowish and your scalp is red and oily, you should try antifungal shampoo like selsun blue or shampoo with tea tree oil if your have a sensitive scalp. If the flakes or smaller and your skin is dry in other places then you simply have dry scalp. I would moisturize my scalp with a light oil. I used an oil called Unlay but mielle rosemary mint scalp oil is a very good drug store product for a dry itchy scalp. 💕
@hrhsophiathefirst40603 жыл бұрын
It could also be seborrhic dermatitis which looks like dry flaky skin as opposed to dandruff, you also have some dryness on your face. If your eyebrows are also flaky sometimes that is a dead giveaway. My derm recommended Tsal from Neutrogena as it exfoliates the scalp. Shampoo and leave on the scalp for 5 to 10 minutes twice. Wash after with moisturizing shampoo and condition. Also adding a bit of rosemary, tea tree oil or peppermint to your deep conditioner.
