Joe Jama / Perales Jnr ['Chicano' soul singer] wrote and performed this on the San Antonio-based [Texas] Optimum Record label in 1969. It was actually a 'double-A' sided release ['Sleep late my Lady Friend' was the official 'A' side]. It became a massive sound on the 'Northern Soul' scene here in the UK. Extremely rare and much in-demand original copies will set you back for over twice your estimate at around £2500/US$3000.
