the pixie getups and strange antics put a lot of people off, but GONG are a really tight, original jazz/space-rock outfit....just bought a 2006 bootleg of theirs today.... can't stop singing tropical fish....

I think the new age leanings are what put a lot of people off. Some pretty odd shit spawned out of the various new age movements and religions of the 1970s. Heck, some pretty disturbing shit which lingers to this day. Add on the fact that tons of these new age types from this era just wound up becoming crazy ass right wing conspiracy nuts who think they're turning people gay and shit. But don't get me wrong.... my respect for Gong, especially Steve Hillage and his era of the band are quite high musically. But homie..... the spiritual shit was some fucked up, wacked out nonsense.

We used to listen to Gong in '73 '74 .. then and now the finest prog rock there is . Steve Hillage is one of finest guitars most never heard of.. the way he cuts loose in this video is fantastic

thanks for this ive found. cant find it elsewere. its one i enjoy most everytime. rocking. it was good to discover gong. was in a meditive state at the time and has helped with issues in mental health to release my bad energys to use to come better of them. zu fu ni. bless thanks. om
