As a 'professional' Bronze Player of 3 Seasons. I believe that C4 and a lot of the grenades get under estimated in ranked. I'm guessing because a lot of us want to have our main priority on being careful of threats and focused on the objective, so it's a lot easier to play things like mines since they're something you can place at a door way or sharp narrow corner and get great value without thinking about them, especially back in Season 3. Perhaps we view C4 very face value with its explosive power and not acknowledging the potential of it being able destroy the environment. As for Mesh shields this season, I feel like I never see them anymore since solo queueing with Mesh shield makes it really hard to make it effective as teammates typically don't realize to stand behind you for cover or help shoot at enemies meaning that pulling out a mesh shield after taking damage just tells the enemies to close the gap to you to finish the job.

The Winch Claw should have a grappling hook movement (go to feature) when it is directed at area objects like a walls, floors, and trees. But keep the same, as is (come to) with cashouts and contestants. This up would allow the heavy to not relay on the Med for movement and make it so the heavy can get out of bad situation. Honestly, i think heavies are in a good place. Had a killer heavy yesterday murc my two other teammates with .50 alimbos and then proceeded to goo gun their corpses like a mountain of shaving cream. He had some awesome game sense and knew that either my team mates would have to burn tokens to revive, or id spend am eternity trying to get them out while his team went to cash out. Plays like this make heavies a formidable foe in the right hands.

Good interview. I found this game fairly early on (if I recall it was in season 1), but I didn’t really start until season 2. Power Shift is what really brought me in. I’ve been maining Light, but I like heavy. I also agree there are wayyyy to many Lights.

Could you do a Heavy C4 guide, or point me towards a good C4 guide? So, Swako kept going on and on about how the C4 is top tier and how he thinks every Heavy should be rocking it for its power and versatility. The problem I have is... I can't really find any C4 guides, tips & tricks, etc! Most of the results are 8+ months old, and typically they are talking about the old Nuke meta. Swako mentioned things like the old "hide the C4 under a tipped over cashout" trick, a C4 + RPG kill combo, or blowing up floors... Surely there is more to it than that?

Ive been thinking alot about additions to Heavy, I would love to see a minigun added that can break walls, and forces hip fire like KS23. Instead of reloading you have to manage heat and its inaccurate at range. It would be dope if it had tracer rounds. A thermite grenade. 2 charges, sticks to surfaces, does a bit of burn damage, then explodes, causing damage and destruction. Overall maybe as much damage as a grenade. Id like a better reason to run something other than RPG. For a specialization, Id like something that synergizes well with defensive playstyles. Call it "absolute unit" (work in progress lol) when its active, you move slower, and cant ADS, but you get a personal overshield/damage mitigation, and it cancels out winch and charge and slam. Basically makes you a fucking pillar, able to lock down an area for a short time.

Im a heavy main. I play world tour. I usually rpg the team throw my shield shield charge in and use my flamethrower lol i can usually get one kill every time. If im being healed im going to either hurt their team bad or can score a couple kills lol. Throw some gernades if i have to retreat if I live.

Really nice vid! But there is one thing i'd like to add. As a solo, i can't get higher than plat. I always played with his loadout (mesh/sa12/rpg/dome/c4) and i'm sure it's the best one. But after the mesh/dome nerf and lewis buff (as it was in s1), i changed to winch, lewis, rpg, barricades and anti grav. It seems like this loadout works much better as a solo. Since my team isn't coordinated, sometimes they destroy my c4 for no reason, so to win time i use anti grav and winch to pull cashout and it's working pretty well. Also lewis is pretty good as a solo, since i can't rely on jump pad and ziplines to get closer and be efficient with sa12.

Having an in depth guide on HML would be awesome. Maybe throw up a 2D map and have swako and his team draw on it. Draw things such as where they position, how far you should play from your team (displayed by a circle w a radius where the epicenter is your team. Ex: medium should play within a 5m radius circle from their heavy), ability rotations, etc. Maybe even ask for gameplay because i am curious as to how HML works.

I've got a solution for the double heal beam issue: put the healing limit on your target, not the gun - that way you can still kill the damn target (eventually) instead of the mediums just swapping beams. Demat is slept on anyway, so a little push away from heal would be nice.

I still think my idea of heavy ms cooldown is dependent on dmg to it would still make the ms how the players want and how the devs intended. Making juggling still possible but not nearly as much nor as strong as it was. Sorry im walking home from work so i cant really type too much to explain.

Oh he mentioned rocket riding did yall know you can ride on the explosive canisters and many other things. You can also get a super back jump using explosive canisters but if has to be coming straight at you at the same time you hit a backwards bunny hop ontop of it and hop once more off it.

I might just be bad lol, but I simply can’t get behind the c4 pick. Not that i hate it or anything, I just think pyro mines have way more utility. I don’t play competitive or anything, but pyro mines do similar damage while also being an entrance denial to subsequent enemies. You can still throw them on the floor and rpg it when someone chases you for over half their HP (most of the time it just kills tbh) and you get two of them instead of 1. It can also be thrown on the cashout and it will generally either spook someone into stopping the steal or even kill them. Just my opinion though. I wouldn’t even consider myself a heavy main anyway, but I think pyro mines are just all around better than c4.

as a player who mained heavy for 3 season i agree with the point discussed in the video, i was never a high skilles player because of which i abused the op wepons and utilities the heavy had, like nukes, sa12, flame and winch, those stuff were nerfed in the past season but it never bothered me because the utilities were good enhough for me to close distance and spam flame or sa12, but in s4 it made very hard to play my kit, many heavy dont agree about the nerfs and buffs made but it was needed for making other class to stand a chance, i was so used to over powered heavy i faced a real hard time, but this seasnon forced me to play other classes and i again enjoying it experementing and stuff, and i settled for medium revolver and i have been getting good at aiming, and finding gaps and making cover to shoot from insted run and gun like i used to with heavy, but one thing i might think will be good for heavy can be increase in movement speed a bit

I tried this, but i absolutely feel like you need barricades 100% of the time. At least for solo que. I thought that maybe i was trippin' by not bringing the bubble, but i got smoked for 3 hours straight yesterday using that thing. It goes down instantaneously in ranked 100% of the time. I'll throw it underneath me as I'm falling onto a team that didn't know i was there, and it'll be gone before i even hit the ground. Even the goo stops the DMAT through walls, which is huge. They nerfed the bubble way too hard.

I do agree that model need a range nerf, but still in what world does it make any sence for heavy to have higher dps than medium? Medium must have better dps than heavy, since heavy has a ton more hp, same way light has the highest dps but lowest hp.

thats the thing is the model is killing lights and heavies faster than those classes can fight back. so it does make sense to nerf the model as the balancing stands, I'd rather buffs to everything else but embark does not like to buff much

How would you be suppoused to fight a class that has more hp, better damage and shield gadgets all usefull up close... Also, sadly nerfing is only viable way right now, as much as I hate to say that, because ttk is already very high, and as far as I understood, thats not what devs intended.

How about we remove all heavy gadgets and specializations and just give me a death machine with unlimited ammo. I think this is balance in its purest form. Actually now that I'm saying this embark should just throw a mini gun in the map during a shake up like the alien invasion. Just give it 500 rounds, have a high heat and long cooldown but it can pierce walls and destroy buildings. Just let my heavy fly at this point.

medium is certainly op, heavy is just harder to play solo but it is stronger than light atm. Light is the worst class though so you shouldnt have too many issues dealing with lights unless ur in powershift or quick cash or something
