Thank you for taking the time on making this informative video. I know it took a lot of work. I ordered a pair for my neighbor, i'm so excited to give them to him.

Put these on my stock Tacoma. I don’t use them, but I got them for my mom who is disabled and they definitely help her getting in my truck. They look good and seem pretty durable. So far they work

Should have read the instructions. There's plastic keepers that go over the T bolts to keep them in place during installation.

Running boards look great ! Really sets the truck off. Some off road tires will definitely make it look tougher . I wish I was home over the weekend I could have helped you with them .

A great build with the PA Timber Ghost, IAmour drop steps. A very easy build, the directions easy to understand, total time lapse 4 hours. A great edition to the Tacoma , much easier to climb into the truck. Thanks for watching Like share subscribe it helps the channel, thanks for watching PA Timber Ghost.kzbin.info/www/bejne/nqHGo6WlgpuZi7M

I just got a 2022 Tacoma and the sliders with steps lasted 2 miles off road .. then the left front step was gone! Tomorrow I'm taking the truck to a shop and having the steps removed from the sliders .. if you go off road the steps will be the 1st thing to hang up .. did on mine!

Obviously if you're off roading/rock climbing the last thing you want is parts hanging below the frame lol. You use rock guards etc made for serious off roading. You can purchase a $1500 set of steps and this exact same thing would happen hitting rocks.

OUTSTANDING!!! I'm gonna take my shot at installing mine today, but after watching this, not intimidated at all!!! One minor thing; it prawly doesn't matter because it's only masking tape, but I wonder if putting the tape UNDER the brackets would not only temporarily keep the bolts out of the grass, but would also allow you to easily peel off the tape instead of leaving it in place? Just a thought. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!👍👍👍

I have the same ones on my truck 🛻 !

Due to the trouble with the bolts falling through do you think it would be easier to assemble the brackets on the steps first then mount to the truck or would make it harder
@PATG111 ай бұрын
I did try that, it made it harder to line up. I didn't show it in the video. A piece of tape over the hole solved the problem. It been a few years now with them on the truck no issues yet.

Have you had any issues with rusting on the hardware - fasteners (bolts, nuts, washers)? Reviews on similar iArmor running board product (for Toyota Tacoma) mentions rust emerging on the products. Just purchased for my 2019 truck. Tempted to swap all hardware. Maybe add rubber washers between bracket and truck surface as well. Thoughts?

Not yet mine are not a year old, the brine on the road this winter will work over the aluminum . I have seen some other types of metal eaten out with rust. I used red lock tight on all my bolts, I want them stay tight . There are a lot of IArmor running boards or steps out there. Aluminum will oxidize but much slower than steel.

@@PATG1 Thank you for such a prompt response here! I chose to stay with the hardware provided. I'm here in Pacific Northwest... wet but winter roads are rarely treated with salt products. Chose to add Loctite Threadlock (blue) product to minimize loosening bolts/nuts. Also chose to add neoprene washers alongside the provided metal washers, as buffer to metal to metal contact points. All in all, install took more time than I'd imagined, but really pleased with the look and the convenience these will afford driver/passenger. And my iArmor model are 6.5" wide so am excited for added buffer from other cars door dinging mine in the parking lots! Thanks again for your posted video and install overview! Take care.

When you were assembling the step to the running board the step actually looked like plastic. Are the step "buckets" metal?
@PATG1 Жыл бұрын
Everything is aluminum. I wanted something that would last longer against the road brine.

I got these for my new Ram to help step up into the cab, but they're too low. They don't help you step up much at all like the ones I had on my Toyota and they flex when you stand on them, which to me is a bad sign. You don't even step up on them at all. You just bypass and step into the truck at the end. lol Why even bother having them then?

You can tell they will be trash, all of that should be welded.

I Armor running boards are not off road rated. They just to make it easier to climb in. If I was going to do off roading in the Tacoma, it would have no steps or running boards, larger tires, suspension mods, definitely a lift. Most 4x4s never leave the black top.
