Great idea, zvukoper, great one. I always thought that a military simulation should implement a better reloading-system. I checked the thread. If I were you, I'd finish a single project (like reloading) first before I continue with other things like the medic. This way you might find help faster and get more attention.

when release the mod? I'm still waiting from the first day that you posted in the forum, I'm crazy for trying this mod!

Way too awesome. I know it'd be too long-winded to do this for every gun, but imagening that you actually have to get used to your weapons first... damn :) ♥

Thank you. This is exactly what I plan to do. I'll make IAS playable and ready without major bugs, and then release publicly. Next step - AK107 or 74m simulation with character and weapon animations, with custom models, weapon parts, assembly\disassembly etc.

Generalization and some universal systems (let's say framework for easy implementation) are out of scope of current work. As an ideal result in future - yes, I would like to see everything properly done for all Arma2 globally for all weapons, not even hand weapons. But stages are 1) AKM simulation with dialogged graphics 2) Fr107\74m with animations and improved deepened simulation 3) Everything you can imagine and desire. 1-2 are realistic, 3 - depends on the resul of 1-2, and may be impossible

Yes, the idea is to have an ability to master a gun, to become used to it, know it's mechanics and be perfectly effective with it compared to a rookie. It's personal skill, not ingame skill feature. That's what I mean when saying IAS is authentic.

All right, that's an idea. Looks like a loot of work for me. What about a general system for different types of weapons, like assault rifles, machine guns and sniper rifles? That would be less work and it should be complicated enough for most players. There are a lot of unique weapon, if you use ACE even more.

I'm fixing it, polishing and tweaking controls. When I'm totally satisfied with this demo, I'll release it publicly for feedback and testing.

OMFG!!! You came here 7 years after I've posted that video :) GOSH! Well, those scripts were not too complex. I guess I could even find those files somewhere :) I can upload them to GitHub and let somebody port this to ARMA3 :) But this video shows not really a complete mod, but a working scripted concept. Ok, I'll try to find the files :)

@@zvukoper this gun mechanic system is awesome, like the Receiver (2012 game). Yes, please upload them to Github :') ARMA should've had a gun mechanic like this. Do you play ARMA3 as well? If so, why don't you port it to ARMA3? it'd be very awesome!

@@vekonglengkong Yes, I've been hypnotized by the Receiver game. Before that, I've played Fahrenheit, and then I realized, that game mechanics should not be a boring "wait for the progress bar to complete". The game must be palpable, you need to perform actions similar to real life. Mouse and keyboard can handle that - this concept is the proof. Unfortunately my Arma "career" has kinda ended after ARMA3 release. I've switched to DayZ, and even after that the real life overcame everything. I've never played ARMA3 seriously, but I've spent years in Arma1 and Arma2. Couldn't find any files on my PC :( I've checked dev-heaven project, but it seems Sickboy shut it down long ago. I think I've seen some old HDD on the dusty shelf :) I'll check it, may be the files are there.

@@vekonglengkong the other good concept based on IAS - kzbin.info/www/bejne/fX26hICHlJl4qq8 this is how you can interactively speed up your wound treatment.

Way too complicated. I realize this is a work in progress, but it takes a lot less time to reload than that. If you think about the reloading process, it makes sense to be mapped to one button, because extracting the empty mag, inserting the fresh one and cycling the charging handle is all one motion once it's in muscle memory.

While watching the "Receiver" trailers, after "how cool is this" came "how cool would it be in Arma!" Do you have a link the Arma 3 feature request post I'm sure you've made for this! ;)
@zvukoper5 жыл бұрын
I haven't really requested it. I thought it's too deep to make the devs spend time on this. I've been discussing game mechanics for many years with BI and I somehow figured it out, which features they will not be doing (out of scope) and leave it to the modders. So I've never requested it.
