How would you suggest explaining sampling strategy, procedure and ethical considerations when using secondary data? A really helpful video series- thank you! :)

Try the video “where to get data” to get some ideas on secondary data sampling strategies. The procedure is specific to the day and assignment so hard to give guidance, but I always emphasize the importance of doing something unique with it.m, rather than presenting a simple graph of the data, or just re-writing someone else’s conclusion. For ethical considerations, students could consider whether they are using the data in a way that the person it is based on (if it is from people) would be happy with. Again, very specific to the assignment so it’s hard to give students broad guidance. Sorry for bring so vague.

What could be my sampling strategy, ethical considerations, and safety precautions, if I am using a virtual experiment for my IA? Thanks. Great series!!

What’s the experiment?
@anavidasgupta25044 жыл бұрын
@@Science_Sauce So, my research question is "How does acid rain correlate with populations of different aquatic species". The experiment basically focuses on how an increasing concentration of acid in a water body affects the population of aquatic invertebrates.

In that case, you could discuss the ethical concerns of deliberately adding acids to lakes in a natural environment, as well as causing harm to invertebrates (in the natural environment or as a lab-based project), and then explain how your use of a virtual experiment avoids these ethical concerns.

Oh Alright. Thanks a ton! What about the sampling strategy part?

That’s for your to decide. It’s just a case of where you get data from, how much data, how you collect, and then justifying your decisions.

so this is the hazard of my investigation or the environmental issue?
@Science_Sauce3 жыл бұрын
If you mean the risk assessment, the hazards refer to potential hazards within your method. Hazards relating to the environmental issue might be relevant to your investigation but not within the risk assessment.
