IB Life Travelers: Fiji, 2019

To learn more about indigenous knowledge and the diverse ways of knowing that exist in the world, the IB Life Travelers group visits different countries each summer with Rustic Pathways, a leading student educational travel group. Student travelers participate in authentic hands-on learning through cultural immersion and service learning. The trip weaves together curricular content and learning from the IBDP Theory of Knowledge class and other DP courses with real-world experiences. During this trip in particular, students lived with and worked alongside the incredible people in the highlands of Nausori and on the island of Somo somo to find ways to mitigate and solve some of the cultural, economic and environmental challenges they face.
