These videos were produced for an older version of the curriculum but they may still prove useful so I'll leave them up. Neither vectors nor matrices are in the current AA SL curriculum. You can download the blank notes using the link in the video description. I've updated the links so they should work. That said, Google is sometimes fickle with Drive access so you may have better luck accessing them in Chrome and/or signed in to a Google account.

thank you so so much I have never felt very confident with math but these videos help me to ensure that I understand some principle basics

The velocity vector is not necessarily the same as the direction vector. They're parallel, but a direction vector could have any magnitude (it just needs to indicate direction) whereas the velocity vector needs a specific magnitude (namely the speed).

46:09 What if we wanted the obtuse angle though? Do we add 180 to the result? Thanks for the vids again!
@mathsl19 жыл бұрын
Filmeurs. 180 minus the angle we found. Unlikely to be an issue in 3D though.

nope.

Where did you get 2 from on the velocity vector for the Alberto problem? Shouldn't it be 6? I think you made a mistake because you randomly say "it should be twice as much" but then proceed to not give an explanation.
@mathsl15 жыл бұрын
I do explain that the magnitude of the given vector is 3. And that the velocity vector needs to have a magnitude of 6. Therefore we multiply the direction vector by 2 to give it the correct magnitude. Sorry to hear you struggled with that, but the work is correct.

you made a mistake in the operations part, minute 2:58. the y value is supposed to be positive 4
@mathsl16 жыл бұрын
No, it's right. It should be negative 4 just like the vid says. That said, matrices are no longer part of the SL curriculum, so skip to 23:10.
