How did you do? Thanks to Mr. Parina I get through the tough stuff pretty ok, however I did not have enough time, especially paper one I left out almost 2 whole questions, paper 2 was definitely better

+Barbora Stejskal Ow, i did pretty well in both papers i was quite scared for P2 but then it was alright yeah.. my math teacher trained us to answer those questions very fast so that we have enough time to finish the whole paper the last two were a bit tricky but we could easily get follow through marks ☺

Hey mate; thanks a lot for all the videos! i am doing the IB diploma right now and im writing my exams in 2 weeks. I have been looking at your videos through out my entire IB course and they helped me a lot. I did not pay attention at anything in class but I mostly scored IB 7 and 6 in my Topic tests because I watched your videos at the night before my tests. I would appreciate it if you could go through a entire past paper 1 & 2 because the IB likes to pic some difficult questions and it would be a nice preparation for the exams! Thanks in advance!

@Sophia Coser All three types of rice would mean that the TWO more types of rice were eaten. They only want ONE more type so you just add 10+5. Hope that helps.

Thanks so much for all these videos, they're really helping my revision A LOT!! I have a question about the probability exercise with the biscuits (B ii) - why do you can't you just calculate it by doing 4/10 x 6/10 = 24/100? Is it dependent on the previous exercise?

Hi... When they ask for the probability of exactly ONE chocolate biscuit you have find the probability of Chocolate and then Plain, but also the probability of Plain then Chocolate (in this case the order that you draw them does not matter as long as one of them is chocolate). This is a very typical problem with tree diagrams. They usually ask you to add two probabilities at a certain point. I would just list them (CP and PC) as I think that makes it a little easier.

@Brianne I see what you're saying on that one since the train cannot leave from both gates at the same time. Usually these questions are very specific and will say "but not both" if they want the V with the line under it, but I can see how your logic is correct.

Please help me solve this problem: Given that P(AUB) = 0.7, P(A) =0.6 and that A and B ARE independent events, find P(B)

For independent events, P(A∩B) = P(A) x P(B). We do not know P(B) so lets just call it x. So the P(A∩B) = 0.6x. P(AUB) = P(A) + P(B) - P(A∩B) 0.7 = 0.6 + x - 0.6x 0.7 = 0.6 + 0.4x 0.1 = 0.4x x = 0.25 there P(B) is 0.25. Hope that helps. Those can be a little tricky as you need to use the probability formulas in the formula booklet.
