Hey, nice presentation! I'm trying to do the same convention for my research presentation now, but I'm focusing more on the stereotypes than the exaggeration. Were you able to find any information about how to portray the mannerisms (voice, gesture, etc) of the different character stereotypes? I've been mimicking videos, but I'm hoping there's something a little more concrete out there.

Unfortunately there really aren't any concrete resources out there for you. That's one of the hidden curses of Rakugo-- no written stories or sources. I think if you are interested in researching the stereotypes you could look at the archetypes found in Comedian Dela arte. I have a slide dedicated to characters in my presentation if you'd like a copy.

I am doing the same tradition and my performance convention is transformation of character. In criteria D it asks to compare our performance convention to another performance practice which i also want to do stand up comedy for, but i can't help comparing it to Rakugo as a whole tradition not just my performance convention. How did you compare these? and do you have your score yet?

I dont know my score for anyone who needs to know. My school barely accommodated IB and IB Theatre was a mess my senior year. I never found out my scores or got any feedback. All I know is that I passed and I graduated with an IB diploma.

There isn't a name for it. I actually stole this same story from a different Rakugo presentation and focused on a different aspect of theatre within it
