It's safe enough but I wouldn't say super safe. And it's more like summer all around rather than spring--it's gotten hotter, so everyone says--but not oppressive. But you're right, it's a pretty good food scene for that size of city, and everything is cheap. (If you want good Chinese food, find another city.) Bucaramanga and Manizales are better-organized cities but more expensive and farther from Bogotá.

The smaller cities have less to no digital nomads remote workers unlike Medellin where descent furnished apartments going for 1K per month.

Agreed. Less traffic, less pollution and the properties and foods are much cheaper. Traffic and increased costs would be the reason I'd not permanently live in the Medellin. Party town and all that comes with it.
