I replaced the bridge with ebony, Thomastik flatwound 13s, and put felt tabs under the corners of the pickup rings. It transformed the guitar with a beautiful jazz tone and more acoustic volume.

Just bought one of these today. As an absolute beginner, so far, it's been fun to play, and the most important thing is it looks really good. 😂 I'm looking forward to having this in my practice rotation.

I got an AF75 in 2018, i still have it today and honestly, before i could afford another electric guitar last year, it got me thru a lot and is a very, very versatile guitar. Im not a jazz player myself, im more psyche/hard rock and punk and with flatwound strings, it packs a punch i haven't felt pther guitars live up to. Its a solid guitar, and then some

Glad you mentioned the tones brightness. I have experienced this with several archtop guitars even at higher levels including Epiphone Joe Pass models. I struggled with string types and gauges along with other minor tweaks. The felt under the strings really helps and larger gauges especially on the 1st and 2nd strings.

I have the 2017 version of this guitar, which has a few different but unimportant differences in the specs. I have changed the strings from the round wound 10's that came with it, to a set of .011 gauge Thomastik-Infeld Flat wounds. That alone made the most improvement. I also upgraded the p/u's (but didn't need to) and replaced the harness with full size pots and wiring. But it was always a good sounding guitar and I know at this point that it is one of the ones staying with me until the end.

If I press on a note too hard does it go sharp with these frets?

I had the Chinese and its neck profile bugged me. I had to sell it.

what was it you didn't like?

@@Bgt3 the neck at the binding area was edgy. Not curved enough. And as I remember in a store,I tried the Indonesian version that had a more palm friendly profile. Other ways, the guitar played well and was well made

the guitars sounds well in ur hands even with the silly factory daddario 9s or 20s that have nothing to do with this guitar. They should sell it with flatwound strings.,

I have stock strings on mine and she rips it’s mostly the player not the guitar look at Sam Wylde for example ripping a yellow kitty guitar. Plus he’s over rated.
