Convinced to get the az47p1qmbib because of this review. In hand, they play like a dream, everything just feels smooth and buttery, specially the fully floating trem, lots of tricks you can do with em. The best thing about it is the build. i debated getting the prestige or this model, and this wins by a mile. pearloid bindings, quilted top, there is 0 flaw (qc lottery? 😂). heck roasted maple and rosewood top isn't even available with prestige models! Plus, I love, LOVE dimarzio pickips. I don't even regret not getting the prestige model, this thing is all I ever wanted in a guitar at a reasonable price. props to ibanez for pulling it off

I love my Ibanez. I got an RG 450 for $225 used because it had a chip in the finish. Love the HSH and the double locking tremolo. The fretboards are great too. Looking to get another Ibanez at some point, maybe a 7 string

Impressive that it stays in tune without locking clamps.

Weeping China Doll is my favorite 7 string riff! I did NOT expect to hear it here. Cheers Dagan! 🤘🏻

The nut is a little high cut on the first guitar. I can hear it in the intonation when you take different chords close to the nut. But thats an easy fix. Rather that than to low. If it's to low you got a completely different job ahead. With that said, I almost always have to lower the nut slots with every guitar I buy regardless the price of the guitar. Nice playing as always, love your vids

Nice! Ibanez have always made great guitars I bought my Roadster in 1980 (£189 new) and my Rhoads style PR1660 in '87 (£250 used).

My first AZ Premium came with a case not a gigbag. A soft shell case which was fantastic.

Thanks heaps for sharing, great review, love that you just played the guitars without a backing track ruining the sound.

Hi, nice review of those ibanez guitars, I like the black one with chrome hardware btw. the chords you play on the 7-string guitar sound like the band crossfade.

I had an AZ with the Hyperions, guitar played fantastic, neck was awesome just a joy to play. But the pups (Hyperions) just never cut through the band mix. With no dirt is was sparkly clean but switch channels and it just got lost in the mix. Not sure how the pups are EQ'd but it was an issue for me. Sold it off as I didn't have the time to shop for pickups that would fit. PRS Fiore took the spot.

I had the same issue. I didn’t like those seymour duncan pickups either.

The seven string is okay but what I don’t understand is why Ibanez put a string guide on it. They should have made an angled headstock
@dreammachine86 Жыл бұрын
What is the purpose of the string guide vs. an angled headstock?
@chocolatecookie8571 Жыл бұрын
@@dreammachine86 you mean the difference? The basic thing is they both serve the purpose of preventing the string to fall out of the nut. But one prefers to have angled headstock over the string guide.

Look I don't want to knock the Premium any more, but let me just say this I love the AZ range, Prestige and Premium. I have Gibsons and Fenders and PRS all USA and custom shop but the AZ is my favourite. But just try playing a Premium in the dark or a poorly lit room or stage. The Luminlay side dots on the Premiums are fake. You won't have a clue of where you are on the fretboard.

They work perfectly fine for me. You do know you need to shine a light into them like from your phone for a good 30 seconds to get them to work
@Chevsilverado Жыл бұрын
They only light up if you charge them with a flashlight or something. They stay glowing for long enough after that imo.
@mike1967sam2 жыл бұрын
Don't take this as a snob attitude but I bought the AZ a couple of months after it first came out on the market and it was a dual humbucker AZ Premium. Since then I have owned 4 more AZ Premium and 3 AZ Prestige and I can tell you this, the AZ Prestige is worlds away from the Premium. If you look at the specs you think: "They're more or less Identical. I'm not paying an extra 700 bucks over minute details." But boy are you wrong. Just the S-Tech wood treatment makes a huge difference in how the guitar feels in your hands. Even the pickups being marketed as the same are NOT the same. If you've never had or played an AZ Prestige I understand but once you try one out you realize how I inferior the Premium is. The AZ Prestige goes toe to toe with any 4000 dollar boutique guitar. The Premium, to be honest is overpriced for the poor quality. That's my 2 cents. Mike.

Where are they made?

Indonesia. But as far as I know, they are made in Ibanez’ own factory there.
