Ibanez JivaX2, Jiva10, and Jivajr review.

just my honest opinion of these 3 beautiful guitars. I am not endorsed by Ibanez and was not gifted any of these. I purchased all 3 of them. I figured that since no one has done a review of the JivaX2, let alone all 3 together, I would go ahead and do one myself. I have never done a review like this before. I apologize for the crappy quality.

All three looks awesome especially the latest one , loving the shine and color of it, ZR bridge definitely useful indeed to stay in tune if a string broke 💯💪

Not a zr bridge. The latest one is the edge zero bridge with zero point system. The one with the zr bridge is not in this video.

Does the Jiva X2 have a stiff tremolo arm since it has the zero point system in the back of the guitar because I tried an S model before with that bridge and the whammy bar was stiff

@BlackGhost92 it's a little bit stiffer, however it still flutters pretty well. Also you can take out the bar and extra springs and it will be like the the non ZPS ones.

Yep same and it’s great. and I’ve also test driven the X2 and I don’t see why or how it’s worth $3500 🤔. Not really much different than the Jiva 10. Certainly not worth an additional $2000 🥴

I have the Jr. I did Fu tone upgrades and a dimarzio super distortion in the bridge, hs3 in the middle and a dimarzio paf pro in the neck.

Only thing I did to my jivajr is scallop the fretboard from 12 through 24.

I am looking to buy the JR as my second guitar, I have been playing for a couple of years. From what I can tell it seems to be an awesome guitar for the money it costs. I am not sure that it differs that much from the cheaper Ibanez S670QM however, seems to just be a cosmetic difference so I might save the money if that is the case, I want to upgrade the guitar as well with at least the Dimarzio Super Distortion in the bridge and perhaps something else in the middle and neck pickup position as well. I am not sure what pickus to put in the other positions yet though, was thinking about the Dimarzio Paf Pro in the neck as well since I have heard it is a really nice combo with the Super Distortion in the bridge. What pickup to put in the middle ? What pickup is the HS3, is it any good ? I have a Fender noiseless "single coil" left over at home I could use.

@@Eagleinnz Make sense to modify the cheaper version of the guitar 👍 The JivaJR is one out of 5 guitars I am looking to buy as my second guitar now, I have been playing for 3 years now. The JivaJR seems like a great guitar for someone intermediate like me to practice on. I am choosing between the JivaJR, the Ibanez JemJR, The PRS SE Standard or a Solar A2.6FR with floyd. I already have a Jackson SDXMN Adrian Smith Sig guitar so I am well aware of how Floyd Rose works. The JIVAJR is the dearest in price of all the guitars I am looking at for my second guitar but I think it is also one of the best. The Ibanez "S" and "SA" series are so thin and light and feels awesome to play. another strong candidate is the PRS SE Standard which have a really nice tremolo that holds its tuning very good even though it is non lockable. I have never tried "scalloped frets" would be nice to feel the difference

Dont get me wrong. But i LOVE❤ my two S's. A S561 standard with strat pickups. And a S6570q prestige in natural blue. But im surprised to see a rocker like Nita use a S. I find they lack attack and bite. For hard rock and metal. Compared to my RG's that is. All her guitars sound and look amazing. And fantastic pinch harmonics dude 🎸🎉😊

The pandemonium pickups make up for the lack of bite from the s6570q (which I also have) and the tone zone and air Norton pickups that come in those

What I want to know, is how does Ibanez justify the $2,000 price increase for the new JivaX2 Over the Jiva10 when they’re basically the same guitar? I personally own a S1070PBZ that has The Edge zero 2 trem, Stainless frets, a 12 piece wizard neck Dimarzio Pickups a Gotoh Locking tuners, and Ibanez can sell that guitar for $1,399 I think Ibanez is getting Ridiculous with the pricing of their Artists series guitars if you ask me. $3500 is J-Custom money. And the Jiva will never be a J-Custom.

Admittedly, some of that pricetag does come from the name attached to the guitar being a signature model. The ibanez pia is the same price. As far as justifying the 2k increase from the Jiva10, for me personally, I do feel a big difference between the 2 guitars when playing them. The Jiva10 is still an amazing guitar, and I love playing it, but the jivax2 definitely feels like a whole different level. The necks are completely different from each other. The jivax2 neck is a lot smoother, and it's thinner. I don't work for ibanez, so I can't say why they justify the increase, but from a players perspective, I can say that there really is a big difference between the 2 guitars. Again, this is just my personal perspective and opinion.

@blackjackson21 You are correct. Ibanez MIJ Artist series guitars are a crazy price mark-up. Your S1070PBZ is right at the 'sweet spot' for price vs features. No 'Artist Tax'. Premium case/gigbag vs Prestige OHSC. Made In Indonesia labour rates. Recent price hikes seem to be 'because they can'. the 'new' Pia guitars are 33% more expensive than the outgoing outgoing MIJ Jems and the Premium MII Jems are now Prestige prices. Even J Custom guitars are wildly over priced compared to Prestige line. Slightly different materials aside, they are made on the same prodcution line but benefit from a little bit of extra hand finishing time. J Custom don't retain value especially well either

@blackjackson21 Man guitar companies and companies overall in the world are getting ridiculous with their prices, but yeah , artist series have been getting a huge boost in price. But it is just not Ibanez, I remember some years ago you could get guitars with neck through bodies and premium pickups and sometimes Floyd 1000 for under 1000€ but not any more, LTD and Schecter which used to give you good specs for the money, are nowadays putting their own shitty pickups in guitars for up to 1000€ if not more money. Now you are paying what you paid for Indonesian guitars but you get "made in china" guitars instead The cheapest guitars now with original Floyd is Kramer and Solar guitars for 1000€

What's the main difference between the 10 and X2 to justify a $2000 price increase?

Made in Japan, 5 piece neck, edge zero bridge, prestige fret treatment -vs- made in Indonesia, 3 piece neck, edge zero 2 bridge. Also the X2 comes with a prestige custom fit hard case. There are other things but those are the main differences.

i love the s series but i went for the 1070 pbz, it is the only model with stainless steel frets, so it was a no brainer for me, i do have to say though, people say the s series is light, my one is not, its actually heavier than my AZ, there are a load of different woods in there, sometihng is weighing it down

ZPS adds a fair chunk of weight. There's a lot of extra metal compared to a trad' claw system

I recently acquired an S that is entirely made of Ash and it is as heavy as my medium-weight Schecter NJ Traditional (basically a Strat) Next S I'll get will be made of either Basswood, Poplar or Mahogany though. Bit lighter.

@@zynosgd9982 i think a lot of the weight might be in the edge zero 2 trem, theres a lot of metal in it, i would love to compare the weight of mine to a fixed bridge s, in fact i wish mine was a fixed bridge, the trem doesnt stay in tune worth a damn

@@darkestfugue i have no issues with my Edge-Zero 2. If I do I might try to retrofit a Gotoh in there but for now it's stable and not too heavy

How do the necks differ on all 3?

I explain the neck differences on each one in the video, but I don't remember if I give details on thickness. The jivajr and jiva10 are the same thickness (19mm at 1st fret and 21mm at 12th fret) . The jivax2 is 17mm at 1st fret and 19mm at 12th fret
