I have this one and the QX52. will get the Q52PB soon. These guitars are all I play now. Once I went headless, I cannot go back to guitars with headstocks. Love the compactness, the playability, they are so balanced, and no neck dive. Headless all the way. I play mostly jazz fusion type stuff these days, through Quilter amps.

Great video, thanks! I think I've just fallen in lust with this guitar. I think Ibanez have knocked it out of the park with this one. Cheers!

I have the same guitar. Sounds great, very playable. Wish Ibanez would release a model with a trem.

I tend to dislike split humbuckers, these are a welcome exception.

I have this guitar as well. It jumped straight to being my #1, over my Mark Holcomb SE and my Ibanez JS2000. I may eventually get the Q52PB

So far I've only played Strandberg copies in the headless world, would like to try these

They've got stainless steel frets in 2024 (although every retailer I've seen still has older stock - check the back of the headstock for 1p-02 if you care about fret material) Lots of people complaining about QC issues though (including on the ichi10 signature version) puts me off (especially for a guitar costing over £800) Maybe if they do a Prestige model....

I got my QX52 from my local shop today and it's a 1P-02 with stainless steel frets. No Quality issues, looks gorgeous with ss frets and is absolutely fantastic to play

Great review! Nice sounds and playing! What could you tell about the tuners? Are a bit hard to use? Thank you! Best Regards from Argentina.

i saw a used seafoam Q 54 at a Guitar Center in Chico, CA today and thought WTF??? I had no idea........ I may well end up going for a Flat Black iteration. thanks for the review Chris. Have to ask though, if you could have JUST ONE: this or the Legator Ghost Iris Fade?
@ChrisTompkins-Music-And-Gear Жыл бұрын
This beats the heck out of the Legator IMO.

i just purchased the Blue Sphere and it is slated to arrive tomorrow, Tues the 17th. Also gotta say, I most love that "acoustic...of some flavor" sound I heard you slinging among all of your tones....on keisel lm6 at 10:00. THAT was exquisite. I AM beyond antsy about my Ibanez arriving tomorrow though. btw, you from Ulster area?@@ChrisTompkins-Music-And-Gear

I really dont understand why it is so resonant. I have the HSS version
@mael_stro57837 ай бұрын
Its because of the fixed bridge. Fixed bridge resonates well in comparison with tremolo bridges due to its nature of direct mount on the body.
@JackieMcGruffster Жыл бұрын
How does the bridge compare to your other headless guitars ? Are the tuners easy to turn ? Is it easy to adjust the bridge and do string changes ?
@ChrisTompkins-Music-And-Gear Жыл бұрын
Very good quality tuners. They turn very easily and are a breeze to work with. Excellent design. The only headless hardware that I really like better (ever so slightly) than this set, is the Legator.

Would you say that a roasted maple fretboard/neck softer than regular maple? How does it compare to rosewood?
@ChrisTompkins-Music-And-Gear Жыл бұрын
I think it seems a bit softer than regular maple. But, likely because there isn't a hard finish on it like regular maple has. Though it seems to be harder than a rosewood board. Likely because its simple less porous. It feels nice under the fingers too.

@emelle12838 ай бұрын
is it a Floyd Rose type bridge?
@ChrisTompkins-Music-And-Gear8 ай бұрын
No. It's is a "Hardtail" style bridge, which is fixed to the body. A "Floyd Rose" style bridge is a locking tremolo system, which has a "whammy bar".
