Happiest of New Year's to you, Paul. You'll get there five hours before I will. Let me know if everything's okay when you get there in case I'd rather stay in the old year.

I may not achieve it but it's my aim to be asleep when '24 hits so you might have to let me know it's ok. Either way I hope it's kind to both of us :-)

Thanks for sharing Paul. I've had my Q54 for a while now it fits in really well in our 80's band and covers just about anything from 80's Brit Pop to those 80's LA Session Rock and Pop textures however I'm playing this through a Headrush Prime which the guitar sounds great. Best wishes from the Lake District 🎶🎶😎😎

Thanks so much for stopping by and for taking the time to comment. The headless Ibanez guitars are certainly versatile, as you say. It is a shame that some folk have the idea that headless guitars are only for 'fusion' or 'metal' or whatever. As always, it's the player not the instrument that makes it sound like it does. It's nice in London - sunny but not too hot - and I hope the weather is being kind to you in your beautiful part of the world.

happy NGD, it looks and sounds great for the money. Treat myself to a headless strandberg HH, weighs just over 4lbs, the cut-aways are perfect for myself as a sitty down player, all the best 4 the new year, stay well.

For me, because I'm so in love with Strats and Teles and other more conventional guitars, I couldn't justify the cost of a Strandberg but theses are a good entry-level headless and I get the weight advantage too, which is great. Thanks for stopping by and for the comment, and a very happy new year to you too.

Hi Paul, Happy New Year! I agree with some of your other viewers about the 'edless . I'm old and have formed my guitar attachments over the years, but I can imagine the weight and comfort and also the "flyability" to be very nice. I don't travel too far these days...I believe it was an Englishman who said he loved to travel almost anywhere...as long as he could sleep in his own bed that night! I don't travel but I do ramble don't I? Best to you in the new year!

Thanks so much... and a very happy new year to you too. As a Strat man first and foremost these headless guitars are unlikely to ever get into my top ten favourites. It really is all about the weight which is a treat, even compared to a Strat or Tele. I certainly couldn't ever do the 10lb Les Paul again. We could have badges made and start a club - "Not Tavelling Just Rambling". If you can find a handful of my videos where I don't talk too much you'll be doing well 😂 Thanks so much for dropping by and for taking the time and trouble to comment. I really do appreciate it.

Thanks for the review. Sounds great. Of the three, which do you play the most? I’m trying to decide, they all seem great to me.

Thanks so much for stopping by and for the kind words. To be honest I probably play the Q52 (with twin humbuckers) most, maybe because I am fussier about my single coil sound (I've played Strats for 50+ years) and more tolerant with humbuckers. Having said that, they are all comfortable to play, are very light and sound fine.

I admit to be quite traditional concern design of guitar. Now the sound is good 👍 HNY 2024 to you and yours 👋😊Tristan

Hi Paul, Are the neck profiles of all three the same? What’s your take on the similarities between a Strat and these necks? A good transition or are they widely different? Thanks for your review and time. Happy new year!
@PaulMcCaffreyfmac10 ай бұрын
I would say the three necks are the same as one another and moving from a modern Strat, unless it is a signature model with an exceptional profile, should be no problem after a short while. These may feel slightly less roomy but I suspect that is because they might be marginally shallower front to back, maybe a bit like the Silhouette I have. To be honest I'm just talking for the sake of it. The bottom line is that if you can get used to the body shape and weight and the lack of headstock they are very comfortable guitars to play for extended periods. Thanks for stopping by and for taking the time to comment. I appreciate it. Happy new year.

sounds great but I must admid the design does not appeal to me. The instrument looks "unfinished" in a way to me 🙂Happy Sylvester 2023 and a happy 2024 Best regards Frank

Happy new year Frank. Yes! I know what you mean. It also looks weird on me because it is so small and I am so big but as guitars they are really nice to play and I do enjoy the very light weight . :-)
