This is perfect for what I want to do. I’m a new musician, I’ve been playing piano for 2 years and recording covers in garage band. I’m tired of doing the bass on my keyboard; I’m ready for the real deal

Sounded nice here. It sat in the mix just fine. Amazing how good a low priced bass can sound.

Thanks - those were early days of playing with garageband and recording - I've moved on to Logic Pro now and my playing's improved a fair bit :)

Great video - thank you :) I like your honest approach. I've got one of these and it sounds better than some of the much more expensive basses I've had in the past. I also like the slightly chunky neck and wider string spacing than my old jazz bass (a bit more P-bass like). You sounded great in the tracks.

Thanks a lot! At the moment I'm looking for a short scale and this one is considered. Would you still recommend it?
@captainianr3 жыл бұрын
Yes I would. I'm still recording with it and my bass playing has improved a lot. I'm sure it's sounding better with all the use - it certainly buzzes a lot less.No regrets here or plans to swap it!

I bought it after I returned Sire V3-5 (which was very unbalanced and couldn't get myself to get over it) and I love it! I was considering to wait for Sire U5 (my dream short-scale bass) to be available again but I don't regret the purchase. The only bad thing is that the pickups are somewhat noisy and the build-in controls arent so fluid as in more expensive basses. It's worth the price (maybe even double its price).
@simonlenton45363 жыл бұрын
Ian I know you bought the bass, so there was an initial outlay, but you should do more of these...very helpful.

Very kind of you to say! I recently bought an Eastman guitar - maybe I should review that?

I Got this bass and it's pretty nice. Good review, but I think you should consider using also finger style when testing a bass! 🤙

Hi, is there a 'blend' adjustment for using both pickups? Eg: playing with 80% of the neck pickup volume combined with 20% of the bridge pickup.
@captainianr3 жыл бұрын
We’ll yeah. Kinda. There is a separate volume control for each pickup so you can achieve any blend you like

Hi I’m 12 and want to play what do you recommend I’ve been trying to find a good beginner bass and I love this one do you recommend it
@captainianr3 жыл бұрын
Hi. I’m no bass expert but I think this is a good bass. It’s a short-scale bass which may be better for small hands. I had to do a bit of setup work on it (lower the bridge and relax the truss rod, then re-intonate), so you might have to do this or get someone to do it for you (adding to the cost). I would recommend going to a guitar shop and trying a few out and seeing which feels best…
@monaith74433 жыл бұрын
I will do
@Soccernz0073 жыл бұрын
@@monaith7443 This would be a great starter bass that you could keep as a 2nd /back up bass. Learning to do technical stuff.... truss rod, intonation etc isn't hard and you could learn on an inexpensive bass and have no fear that you are 'messing it up' ... but I will warn you..... you'll get hooked !! Best wishes
