Ibanez TS-5 tubescreamer stompbox switch replacement

how to replace the stomp box switch on the Ibanez TS-5 tubescreamer. You can probably replace other pedal switches the same way if they are similar to this one.

Thanks for the vid! Instead of replacing the switch in my TS-5, I just gave it a good spritz with some DeoxIT. Seems to have done the trick...for now. 🙂

You don't actually have to replace the switch. The switch is not the problem. You just have to replace the C3 Capacitor with a .01uF Polyester capacitor.

Thanks you so much, Elinin ! I did the job on my Soundtank CS5 in less than 5 minutes and I can confirm : C3 with 0.01uF (or 10nF) and without changing the switch. Works perfectly ! Thanks again !

I'm not sure if it's the same switch. if it's the same design, I would assume it is, but if you just search for the model you have, you should be able to find that switch you need

It's the same switch for most of the 7 series. Some of the later sold pedals have a redesigned switch, but it's very visibly different, and you can see it if you open the battery compartment.
