I reckon when they started Ibanez way back when, they had no idea just how huge they were gonna be 30+ years on, I LOVE my Prestige Ibanez guitars, wouldn't play live without at least two of them.

I been playing for 20yr and used many great models and the Prestige Ibanez are definitely high end hand craft quality with precision, purpose, Tone and easy playing. These guitars are really thought out and engineered, not all of them are same, and each model is unique. The fret work is great feels like your slicing butter with a hot knife very universal fret work but each player is built differently anatomy wise. Prestiges are serious guitars! Not putting them on a pedestal just to be far every model has its greats but this is one of them. Typically you can't find them in your local guitar stores you might fine 1 or 2 on the shelf or none most likely, so you have to purchase them online, since there hand crafted Ibanez doesn't make allot and that makes them special but more than anything they are made to focus on the player not just a piece of decoration. I have top of the line Ibanez Prestige S5470 Team J-Craft made in Japan 24 frets super slick, natural finish, 5-piece maple and walnut neck with a rosewood fret board. Built with a titanium truss rod and jumbo frets. Built to a 25 1/2" scale. It has a BEAUTIFUL mahogany body for the deep tones and sustain but it has a carved top and back to eliminate the weight. It comes with Lo-Pro Edge Tremelo system and black hardwear. The deep brown translucent mahogany body has a dark smoke-black sunburst effect. Purchasing one of these guitar you cant go wrong.

my 200 dollar 85 rs 440 smokes the quality of any gibson i have owned..the neck is better than any fender or warmoth..solid and straight after 30 years.Japanese quality cannot be beat.

Word on that 85 rs 440. I got mine for 100 bux and its probably my favorite guitar, dont forget those pickups, just a great all around instrument. I want every roadstar i see.

I have a prestige RG1570, and the difference with any other non prestige guitar is huge, even at the moment of just holding it and feeling the neck the difference is abismal. Prestige series are awesome.

I love my Prestige but I think I had bad luck with it because the tremolo was broken when I got it so I got it repaired and the other day I was changing strings and a heard a pop and I looked in the back and all 4 springs had come out and shot all over my room. Luckily, Musician's Friend has great customer service so they are sending me another one free!

I have a GRGR121EX and I'm surprised how good it is considering it's meant to be a budget guitar. No, it's not the best guitar on the planet, but it certainly does the job and considering it costed £180-ish pounds it's amazing value. I don't even like metal, and I find it perfectly decent for normal songs.

RG 1527 prestige all the way! It's really the most effortless thing ever! Which is almost a bad thing, because when I play almost ANY other guitar it's tough.

@siddharthawasthi They are over 1000 dollars depending on the model. I have the RG1570 prestige which is a 1000 dollar guitar and it's outstanding, the neck is fabulous and the pickups, although not the best are pretty good, for 100 dollars you can get better pickups that suit your playing style. Let me tell you, when you hold a prestige your hands you really feel the difference with a standard RG, even without playing, and when you play the extra cost makes a lot of sense.

i just swapped my RG550 for a RGA121 the neck is not as comfortable (its still one of the best necks I have ever felt) but I never played the 550 because of the bridge...I would play my rg321 more ...this is basically a combination of everything I loved about both guitars :) I might try and find a second hand Prestige super wizard though to fix my super wizard fetish haha (even though its still wider than the original super wizards/wizards)

stupid youtube won't let me reply to comments… to the guy asking about Prestige guitars' wiring and hardware, mine from 2009 is top notch. there is no extra cable anywhere. it's pinned to the top of my pick guard and very clean. as far as hardware goes, i don't like how quickly the Gotoh tuners begin feeling loose, but the Edge Zero is the best Floyd Rose on the market, and i've tried a lot of them. overall, i pop open the hood on mine once a year, and it doesn't even need it, to put fresh lube on the knife edges… that's it. this is almost a zero-maintenance guitar… that is, as long as you clean it with every string change so it doesn't get nasty lookin'.

Oh man! That old Gibraltar Custom bridge was such a piece of shit. But I've noticed on the newer models that had those old bridges, they re-did the Gibraltar bridge so I think you can use a Phillips head on 'em.

this guy was obviously paid by Ibanez to say only good things. this is not a trustworthy review of these guitars. although he was right when he said they were well made, some of the hardware is less than impressive. Give for example, the Gibraltar Custom bridges on the SZ prestige line. Those hex bolts get worn so easily! And when you try and replace them, they cost a fortune! $250 USD! thats a third of the cost of an Ibanez ICT700 which has the same bridge! WTF!
