Maybe a tiny bit, not a huge difference. But this will also depend on the host device. If it’s providing enough power or not.

DC07PRO has scooped out or moved back/thinner mids- this lets the treble and bass stand out more. It definitely has more power than the nunchuka as far as driving power. The nunchuka tube mode is pretty nice though. But my daps 3.5 sounds better than both dongles balanced outs. The only major dongle I haven't tried is dc elite, but I'll wait, since nothings really impressed me yet. The tube section definitely is the main attraction of the nunchaku. Although AB mode may improve with more hours.

Nice review man, very spot on! Your power consumption test confirms my observation, I also think the Nunchaku is slightly more efficient than DCE which is quite surprising. I find the Nunchaku is more pleasing in the D2 filter mode. Nice Rolex btw.

Thanks! Probably because the DC-Elite uses a chip usually used for powered devices, and that it doesn’t have a gain to adjust. I find the Nunchaku quite pleasing in the slow filter. Not sure if it’s the D2 though.

I already have the Fiio KA5 dongle for when I use my iPhone… getting the DC-Elite for the Hiby R4. Can’t wait!! Considered the Nun, but I normally prefer clearer sound rather than a warmer sound which is what I guess tubes give?

Yes, that's what people usually perceive tubes to sound like. I think the DC-Elite is a great choice, it should be a significant improvement over the KA5.

Yeah, I never had issues using it with my iPhone. And you can control everything without the app.

if your phone have usbc, it will work. choose dongle base on your preference, I would say go for the nunchaku so you can have both tube and solid state
