As someone raised with music and encouraged to be a musician myself, I did struggle letting go of music when I first tried to hold on to my Deen. Alhamdulillah, after leaving it for Allah, I'm living better than before without it. It may still be a struggle to completely quit it since it's part of our academic curriculum, but spiritually, I'm just over it. Subhanallah. May Allah Bless every soul that leaves music for good.

As an American revert who used to be a breakdancer and grew up with music everywhere all the time it was difficult to give it up. I prayed dua asked Allah for strength. I kept thinking that believers "hear and obey." I thought about when the decree making alcohol haram the believers poured wine out in thee streets. That helped me give up musical instruments and songs that are haram. That was a few years ago. I'm so much happier and listen to a lot more Quran and Nasheed ❤❤❤❤❤☝️
