making a nice big trailer from an old caravan to transport bulk containers in bulk.

I never hesitate to snap up anything that will be remotely useful, most especially if it's my favorite price, FREE! You've got me stumped on the great panels you've snagged on to. My thought is some type of modular fencing panels? Whatever they are, they're great material for your fertile mind to repurpose!

Really wasn't my intention with this trailer, was meant to give me a bit of extra beer money. As soon as I'd finished it though I realized it'd be perfect for fetching more old oil tanks.

More rope! I think we both agree it was better to have and not use, when we shut the doors I remember both of us being confident nothing would move.

Think I've still got too much flex, c of g on a caravan is pretty high and they tow fine.

On the flip side, long trailers are much easier to reverse!

Worst case you can use them for firewood. But you'll work out things to use the bits for.

As usual, I know nuuuthing. But, what struck me was the lack of diagonal cross bracing to the chassis. The caravan frame and ply would have provided that, but I can't see that there's anything to replace that? Might that be the cause of the lousy handling? You know your stuff, and I don't, so just a thought. Sitting here nursing my back (it went again... I bent over the sink to wash my face!) so grateful to see you popped up a video. You are right, I put some ties in but nothing on the horizontal plain. Didn't help the panels were not actually sat flat either.

Jim, if you need a tarpaulin to cover you trailer, check with hoarding companies to see if they have any used signage to use for that. In my area, I've gotten several of them over the years, and the heavy vinyl ones are good for about 10 years, and the thinner ones are a lot better than the imported green, silver, or blues ones.

@@turboconqueringmegaeagle9006 one of my best was from a dumper truck. I also got a curtain from a community gymnasium that split it in two for different activities in each half. That came with a chain in the bottom to help keep it in place if bumped or pushed.

Maybe instead of single straight bits of angle across chassis , 2 crossing eachother and welded where they touch would be better

looks like maybe the trailer is lifting the back of your truck up ? looks very back end heavy even though the wheels are quite well back? Or is that just your new springs > The ball and socket looks like its a bit higher than it should be is all. Might be why your handling is a bit *literally seesaw*,,?

Was positive tongue weight, not much but will try dropping the ball a bit, should probably do that anyway.

I collect old signage for my shop walls, mate. Anything that was specifically designed for industry, or In the case of some, bank signage that prohibits skateboarding on the property. I have one from a drive thru car wash requiring 10 coins (US quarters) to operate.

I quite like brass placards, got a set off an old onions scraper, full instructions on cable rigging and lubrication.
