Iberostar Ensenachos Resort in Cayo Ensenachos, Cuba

Located in Villa Clara Province, across the 48 kilometre causeway from Caibarien, Iberostar Ensenachos is a 506 room all-inclusive resort on Cayo Ensenachos.
Cayo Ensenachos is a part of Jardines del Rey Archipelago. More specifically, it is part of the Cayos de Villa Clara that also include Cayo Santa Maria and Cayo Las Brujas.
When staying here, you fly into Abel Santamaria Airport (SNU) in Santa Clara, Cuba. The distance from the airport to the resort area is around 100 kilometres and can be up to an hour and a half drive.
Iberostar Ensenachos is the only resort property on this small island. There are three sections with 270 rooms in the Park (family) section, 190 in the Spa (adults only) section and 46 luxury villas in the Grand Village.
Besides the typical crowded Cuban all-inclusive resort buffet, there are also specialty restaurants, including Japanese, Italian, Mediterranean and Cuban. A gourmet restaurant is available to guests of the Grand Village only.
Two beaches on the property include Ensenachos and Megano.

Great resort . I have been there twice and will return . The spa section pools are fabulous and the beaches are the best . I have been to Cuba nine times . Nice and safe with excellent staff .

I hear ya - we haven't been in over a year and a half now. We missed our fall visit in 2019, saving for an more expensive trip to Punta Cana in April, 2020. Of course, it got cancelled and our $5G is being held hostage by Sunwing...

@@TomSamworth Ya, lots of companies using this pandemic as an excuse to flout the laws. Punta Cana trip sounds great though. Hopefully you get to go there soon, especially since you've already paid for it! I haven't been to PC but have been to Puerto Plata and it was nice. But from what I understand PC has replaced PP as the newer go-to location in the Dominican Republic.

@@chrisoutdoors Same - our only previous visit was to PP - for landscape, I believe it blows away PC but to please the family, PC is the best bet..

We'll be there in 107 days!!! (February 14th) This will be our 5th time there. It's so beautiful, why go anywhere else? This we're going to be there for 10 full days. Seven days just aren't enough. Can't wait!!!

Definitely would go back again (although it may Cayo Coco for this winter's journey south). And yes - 7 days is never enough! When you really look at the travel time it's barely a six day vacation...

​@@TomSamworth The first time I was ever in Cuba it was Cayo Coco. That was first week of January. I don't know if it was just bad luck but the weather really didn't impress me. It rained for a day and a half, it it was quite cool and windy. Actually, we didn't get very much sun at all. The beach would have been great - if I was a surfer. It was rough the whole time. And when walking on the beach I had to keep a very close eye on where I was placing my feet to make sure I didn't step on a jellyfish. It was only when we got home that we learned that the weather can be "iffy" there at that time of year. And apparently, jellyfish season is coming to an end at around that time. Now let me say that this was just my experience when I was there in January. I can't say what it is like in February, or March... or etc. It's quite possible that I just ran into some bad luck.

We were last in Cayo coco about 10 yrs ago - it was beautiful but it was April. My favourite spot in cuba is Cayo largo, a small island on the the sw side but it can be a bit pricy..
