We hope you enjoy this beautiful chanted prayer from Ibn al-Arabi, known as “the Greatest Shaykh”. We have found it be life-changing, dissolving core issues with its gentle waves. Translation subtitles will be added at some point, but the prayer’s meanings are many layered and surprising, more than any translation could encompass.

Salam aleykum, Faiza! Sorry to be so long in responding. We're working mainly from "*A Prayer for Spiritual Elevation and Protection* by Muhyiddin Ibn 'Arabi and Suha Taji-Farouki," and have also consulted with a friend who's a native Arabic speaker. We've been trying to add subtitles, which means the text has to be condensed. The other issue is that a few of the verses sounded harsh, at least to a couple of us, and we know that Allah's mercy and compassion are all-encompassing. I had the blessing of meeting informally with an Ibn al-Arabi expert, and he gave me expanded or alternate translations and explanations that shed a great deal of light. Between wanting to do a good job and respect everyone involved, it may take us a while. Are you an Arabic speaker at all? Please feel free to write again if you have questions about specific verses.

P.S. We find that the effect of hearing and absorbing this is powerful whether or not the translation is known.
