This is one of the most stupid initiative i have ever heard from a governor of a state. Before we even consider the viability of the project. it is a deservice to the state of Akwa ibom to build real estate in lagos as a means of improving state revenue. It takes away the pride of the state. Secondly, is the state goverment building those towers to be sold or rented? if to be sold which automatically stripes the state of akwa ibom of ownership, well, we might give it some credibility. but it if is for rent, it is a useless sinking of money that will take decades to recover the capital. Lastly, why do you sink such monies in a foreign state. A state that is so much in control of political rascals who peddle tribalistic sentiments and violence against non yoruba residence of lagos?
@enjoythemoments11283 ай бұрын
Actually, it makes a lot of sense building it in Lagos because of the high capital appreciation and revenue generation for Akwa Ibom, if it was built in Akwa Ibom, I doubt if anyone can afford such luxury apartment. The Gov is from the hospitality sector and he understands revenue generation via real estate but my only grouse is some local indigenes who probably thinks Lagos can develop itself. Imagine the rest of the states setting up structures like this in Lagos state, it will accelerate the development of the state and boost tourism while generating revenue for the state but some uninformed locals are shouting “leave our state” because of politics.

Most of the comments here are hilarious. Many people don't know what investment is. The value of that project could triple in less than 10years. And if they choose to let it out as a corporate head quarters of a multinational company, where would the rents go to? Akwa Ibom state of course! Thats smart thinking.

@enjoythemoments11283 ай бұрын
@@lopex_channel this has nothing to do with enabling environment created by the Lagos state Govt. Nigeria as a whole is among the most dangerous countries in the world but still have multinationals here. That’s to tell you that no matter how unsafe Nigeria is, as long as those companies have what they are looking for, they will continue to stay. All the IOCs producing the crude which makes up about 80% of Nigeria total revenue has their operations in where you call not enabling but their headquarters in Lagos and Abuja. Nigeria(FG) deliberately made Lagos and Abuja the economic capital and Federal capital respectively in the bid attract massive development there. If today Nigeria is divided, most of this IOCs will move their based to where the money is coming from not minding what it looks like, and guess what? All the banks, sea ports, airports, big businesses, real estates etc that drives Lagos economy will move to that new place and then you’d see all the massive development just like in Dubai and Qatar. Ghana has an enabling environment compare to Nigeria but why are all the multinationals companies that’s presently in Nigeria not there? So even if Akwa Ibom state has the best enabling environment, it’s never gonna be such development like Lagos because all the businesses are in Lagos. You don’t expect me to stay in Akwa Ibom and be working daily in Lagos. I’d rather move to Lagos and that’s how the Lagos economy is run.

On the other hand, Lagos is now a decaying city, experiencing lots of economic divestments - since losing its status as Nigeria's federal capital.
